Today, we celebrate the fascinating world of lizards and the incredible diversity that makes these reptiles so unique. From tiny geckos to powerful monitor lizards, every species has its own remarkable way of surviving and thriving.

Lizards are packed with incredible adaptations that help them survive. From regulating their body temperature with the help of their surroundings to using tail autotomy and regeneration as a defense, these reptiles are true masters of adaptation!

The Philippines is also home to remarkable species such as the 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐒𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐫𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫 (𝘝𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘶𝘴 𝘣𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘸𝘢) and the 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐟𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐫𝐝 (𝘏𝘺𝘥𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘢𝘶𝘳𝘶𝘴 𝘱𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘴). Their presence reminds us of the incredible biodiversity that surrounds us and why protecting their habitats matters.

Yet, their future is in our hands. Since the 1900s, the number of elephants in the wild has decreased from 10 million to about 415,000.

Today, they face the urgent threats of habitat loss, poaching, and human-elephant conflict.

Every animal deserves warmth and compassion. If you have pets, bring them to safety.
