With grateful hearts, BuKal, in partnership with NEC Rover Circle 09 - REACT San Jose City and Rotaract Club of San Jose Golden Harvest , conducted a gift-giving activity last May 17 for the Indigenous families and Aeta communities of Sitio Ditao Cadaclan, Pantabangan where we shared school supplies, seedlings, hygiene kits, and clothing. 🤍

More than a simple outreach, this is part of our continuing cause to protect the Sierra Madre by standing with and caring for the communities who call it home. Maraming salamat sa mainit na pagtanggap at mga ngiti na aming baon. 🙂

A proposal seeking stronger environmental protection for the Sierra Madre is gaining attention in the Senate.

HONTIVEROS PUSHES ₱3.5 BILLION FUND TO PROTECT SIERRA MADRE

Senator Risa Hontiveros proposed allocating ₱3.5 billion under the 2026 DENR budget to establish a Sierra Madre Protection Fund aimed at protecting and restoring the country’s longest mountain range.

The proposal includes support for a 250,000 hectare multi year restoration program and additional funding for forest rangers tasked with safeguarding the Sierra Madre.
