✨️We thank the Mercado Family & Mr. Michael Santino and Family for their generous support to the Pawikan Conservation Center.💚

When we met the family matriarchs in the morning, they promised to bring the kids for an afternoon learning session.🫶

A promise kept, indeed.
Mothers like you rear children whose love for nature is nurtured right at home!

Maraming salamat po.🙏

✨️We want to thank the Medina Family from Baguio City for joining the orientation on marine turtle conservation and the rescue and release activity.

We appreciate the time and effort you took just to cross the hatchling release experience at the Pawikan Conservation Center off your Bucket List!

Maraming salamat po for supporting our Bantay Pawikan volunteers. See you in December.💚

✍️We apologize to the public if we refrained from posting on our page about the rescue activity today.

We didn't know if we will have hatchlings for release because the last two nests barely hatched: only 9 out of 84 eggs emerged from Nest #442.

Meanwhile, all 87 eggs from Nest #437 were unhatched.💔

The looser sand and extreme heat make crawling to the surface challenging for the pawikan. When we excavated Nest #443 this afternoon, we found 8 lifeless hatchlings at the bottom of the chamber and 23 unhatched eggs from a clutch of 121.🙏

On a lighter note, we managed to rescue 25 hatchlings athough one of the batch was disoriented and could not find its way to the open ocean. One was very weak; it's unlikely to survive the journey to the sea.

Still, we keep our hopes up. We have three remaining nests in the hatchery as of date. Whether we will still have hatchlings tomorrow or in the next few days still remains to be seen.
We thank everyone who's been following Season 26.
Hopefully, we will still hear from you when Season 27 starts in September.🫶

🌊 Heartfelt Thank You to The Fraternal Order of Eagles! 🌊

On May 9, 2026, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Philippines generously donated cash and slippers to support the Pawikan Conservation Center and its dedicated volunteers in Bantay Pawikan, Inc., Morong, Bataan.

These contributions will go a long way in sustaining the center’s vital sea turtle conservation efforts — from protecting nests and releasing hatchlings to educating communities about marine conservation.

A big shoutout to all the Eagles members who continue to embody “Service Through Strong Brotherhood.” Your kindness and support for wildlife conservation truly make a difference!

Together, we protect our oceans, one pawikan at a time.

✨️The Pawikan Conservation Center and Bantay Pawikan volunteers are profoundly grateful to the Balangay Araw Eagles Club for their community outreach today.

Our team members will scour the beach in search of marine turtle nests in September with more confidence in their new pairs of slippers.

Nikko always says in jest that the price of gas prohibits use of the ATV during pawikan patrol.

Now they will happily stroll along the beach coast in their colorful Beach Walk Sandals.

Maraming, maraming salamat po!💚

Seven months after the Green Sea Turtle was reclassified by the International Union for Conservation of Nature from "Endangered" to "Least Concern," we are burying a juvenile green sea turtle our Bantay Pawikan volunteers found near Morong Beach Club.

Conservation work is rewarding: we have seen people transformed by the experiences they had at the Pawikan Conservation Center. For us on the ground, it can be disheartening, rage-inducing, frustrating, heartbreaking.💔

We wish there were stronger words of condemnation for those who harm the pawikan.
We strongly appeal to those who are in positions of power to be more vigilant in enforcing the ordinance meant to protect them.
