The Water Rescue Training, the second training conducted by the MonCast Emergency Response Team (MERT), was successfully completed and held at Anas Resort and the Agusan River on January 29โ30, 2026. The two-day activity was designed to enhance the young respondersโ knowledge, skills, and readiness in responding to water-related emergencies.
In partnership with the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office MDRRMO, under the leadership of Sir. Rocris Glenn A. Idul, MAEd, Head of MDRRMO, with the assistance of competent instructors; Ma'am Jonavil N. Malnegro, RN, EMT, MMPA, Sir. Carlos D. Rosagaran, Jr. EMT, Sir. Bernando D. Dangase, Jr. Sir. Jovil C. Natad, Sir. Erwin S. Avinion, and Ma'am. Maria Cristina S. Dela Cruz (Admin and Training Head). With the strong support and coordination were also provided by sir Jarry L. Aserdin, LPT, MAED, MERT Moderator likewise the team extend sencere appreciation to Dr. Gary P. Lagatiera, LPT, College President for his continued encouragement and support to the organization.
This training reflects MERTโs continuous commitment to strengthening disaster preparedness and emergency response capabilities among its members. Through activities like this, the organization continues to develop competent and reliable responders who are ready to serve the community during water-related emergencies.
