Yesterday, we held our monthly Spay, Neuter, and Free Anti-Rabies Clinic and it was a huge success. With 4 vets, 39 dogs were spayed/neutered - 32 females & 3 males and 55 dogs were vaccinated against rabies.
Of the dogs fixed:
• 8 were stray dogs
• 21 belonged to low-income families
Our 8 stray dogs were humanely captured as part of our CNVR (Capture, Neuter, Vaccinate, Return) Program from around Moalboal.
Our deepest thanks go to Basdiot Barangay Captain Sir Pedro Redoble and his team for allowing us to use the Basdiot Community Stage as our clinic venue and Moalboal Dagway paraiso for your continued support.
A huge shout out to our visiting volunteer vets; Authophagy Canton, Joni Franz Davis and Ed Franciscus Cabahug. It was an absolute pleasure to work alongside such compassionate and professional individuals, thank you so very much.
We would also like to sincerely thank everyone who helped make this clinic such a success:
• Our responsible and caring pet owners
• Our professional and compassionate veterinary team, lead by Dr Reive of Aballe Vet Care
• Yum Yum Dog Food for showcasing their nutritionally balanced dog food
• Our dedicated DOM volunteers, who work tirelessly before, during, and after every clinic.
We are also very grateful to Quo Vadis Dive Resort, Moalboal, Moalboal for the use of your truck, and to Dennis for safely transporting stray and free-roaming dogs to and from the clinic, and also Tongo Hill Cottages, Kat Tandoc Vaño Uy of FFG EDEN Resort Moalboal and Magic Island Dive Resort for sponsoring our volunteer Vets and Vets Assistants overnight stay image.png
Every month, we are humbled by the incredible support of our local businesses: El Mercado de moalboal in collaboration with Filippo Pizza Moalboal for sponsoring our handmade lunches, and to Okeanos Hotel & Bistro Moalboal for keeping our vets and volunteers energized by bringing sponsored afternoon iced coffees and beautiful smiles to our venue.
Continued thanks to PAWS Grooming Pet Supplies and Accessories Shop for supporting our CNVR (Capture, Neuter, Vaccinate, Return) program through monthly dog food donations, and to Angie Briggs of Moalboal Eco Lodge for continuing to support low income families dogs every month with sponsorship and logistics.
Your generosity allows us to focus every peso on our mission: making Moalboal a stray-free and rabies-free community by 2035.
