We are happy to share the highlights of our first Youth NEET Summit in Plaridel, held last February 27, 2026.

This gathering brought together youth, partner agencies, and community leaders to discuss opportunities for young people who are Not in Education, Employment, or Training (NEET) and how we can work together to create equitable pathways to education and employment.

We are truly grateful to our partner organizations for making this meaningful event possible.

Empowering Youth. Opening Pathways. Creating Opportunities.

On February 27, 2026, the 1st Youth NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) Summit was successfully held in Plaridel as the culminating activity of Project HOPE: Hands-On Pathways to Education and Employment.

In partnership with the Local Government Unit of Plaridel, led by Mayor Gadwin Handumon, the summit gathered out-of-school youth, student leaders, Local Youth Development Council members, and barangay youth leaders to learn about opportunities that can help shape their future.

The event featured inspiring educational inputs on youth empowerment, inclusive access to opportunities, and pathways to education, employment, and skills development.

A key highlight of the summit was the One-Stop Shop Youth Opportunity Booth, where participating agencies provided direct access to programs and services for young people.

We sincerely thank our partner agencies and organizations for making this initiative possible:
DepEd Plaridel District, TESDA, DOLE, RHU, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, SSS, Arctech, CCC, Cocomin Inc., Paglaum MPC, OWWA, ACPC, and DICT.

This project is proudly supported by UnionAID, Interfacing Development Interventions for Sustainability (IDIS), and Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington, with support from the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade under Aotearoa New Zealand’s International Development Cooperation Programme.

📣 OPERATION TABANG FOR CEBU! 🤝

To centralize relief efforts, LGU Plaridel will be consolidating all in-kind donations for our friends in Cebu affected by Typhoon Tino.

Many have lost their homes and belongings — together, we can bring hope and help them rebuild their lives. Every donation, big or small, makes a meaningful difference.

Drop-off Locations:
1. Mayor’s Office – LGU Plaridel
2. Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) – LGU Plaridel

Items you may donate:
• Bottled water
• Canned goods
• Rice
