Join us for our Parol Contest, a celebration of Filipino heritage and creativity!
Calling all artists of Brgy. Gines, Miagao! We invite you to participate in this year's contest, showcasing your unique interpretation of the traditional Filipino parol.
Contest Details
Category:
-Individual/Group (Open to residents of Brgy. Gines, Miagao)
Contest Schedule:
- Posting of Parols: December 8, 2024 (1:00-6:00 PM)
- Canvassing of Peso Drive Box: December 26 , 2024 (3:00 PM)
- Awarding Ceremony: December 29, 2024
Technical Requirements:
1. Parols must be handmade.
2. Size: Minimum 3 feet x 3 feet, Maximum 5 feet x 5 feet.
3. Material: Locally sourced/indigenous materials
4. Lighting: Required, but candles/live fire not allowed
5. Each parol entry must have a sturdy stand (tukod) to support its display, as parols will be placed on the ground for judging and exhibition. The stand should be stable and able to hold the parol upright, allowing for secure and even display.
Note: A sturdy stand (tukod) is required to support each parol entry."
Peso Drive Guidelines:
1. Maximum donation: Php 1.00.
2. Proceeds support Foundation Day celebrations.
3. Only Php 1.00 will be accepted during canvassing.
Winners and Prizes:

Judging Criteria For Parol Contest
Peso Drive Contribution (40%)
- Maximum donation: Php 1.00 (1 peso only)
- Proceeds will support our Foundation Day celebrations
Earth-Friendly (20%)
- Use of locally available materials or indigenous materials to promote sustainability
Workmanship and Craftsmanship (20%)
-Quality of construction, attention to detail, and overall durability
Artistry, Creativity, and Overall Appearance (10%) -Visual appeal, creativity, and overall impact
-Originality and Uniqueness (10%)
- Unique design, concept, and innovative approach
