LOOK 👀 | January 17, 2026 – The Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Barangay Bag-otan, Matuguinao Samar led by Sk Chairperson Hon. Erica F. Micol, together with the active Sangguniang kabataan Member Hon. Joceperl Diaz, Hon. Roselyn E. Micol, and Hon. Dinnis V. Diaz, successfully conducted the Katipunan ng Kabataan (KK) Profiling!

💡 *Why KK Profiling?*
As mandated by RA 10742 (SK Reform Act of 2015), as amended by RA 11768, the KK Profiling aims to gather data on the youth’s needs, aspirations, and priorities. This will serve as a basis for programs and projects that cater to their welfare and development.

💡 *Purpose of KK Profiling?*
📌To gather accurate data for the National Youth Commission’s (NYC) upcoming SK Portal database.
📌To identify the demographic characteristics and needs of local youth in order to develop relevant interventions, programs, and projects.
📌To ensure all youth (ages 15-30) in the barangay are identified and included in planning.

The KK Profiling is a crucial step in understanding the needs of our youth and creating initiatives that truly make a difference. It will help us identify areas where we can provide support, resources, and opportunities to empower our young people.

We would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who participated in this activity and to our dedicated SK officials who worked tirelessly to make this happen. Your efforts are truly making a difference in our community!

MATUGUINAO SAMAR POLICE DEPARTMENT conducted PEACE AND ORDER in Barangay Bag-otan with the coordination of SANGGUNNIANG KABATAAN COUNSIL and KATIPUNAN NG KABATAAN MEMBERS.

· It seeks to expand the knowledge of young people about peace and security against terrorism, addiction to illegal activities such as the use of illicit drugs, crime, and others.

· It also indicates the avoidance of those who commit or allow illegal vote buying in exchange for the freedom to choose who to vote for, also known as vote buying.

LOOK 👀 I Successful Distribution of School Supplies From SK OFFICIALS

The distribution of school supplies from SK officials was successfully distributed to sixty-one beneficiaries on August 23, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at the multi-purpose covered hall in Barangay Bag-otan, Matuguinao Samar. Spearheaded by SK CHAIRPERSON, Hon. Erica Floquencio Micol, together with her supportive and very active appointed officials and Sk Member, namely, Hon. Cornelio A. Miano, Hon. Teresa E. Pacheco, Hon. Joceperl R. Diaz, Hon. Dinnis V. Diaz, SK Secretary, Ms. Bernabe D. Velarde, and SK Treasurer, Mr. Jhino D. Brillantes.

The program was started by an opening prayer led by Hon. Cornelio A. Miano, followed by Lupang Hinirang, led by Hon. Teresa E. Pachecho.

Hon. Joceperl R. Diaz, Chairman, Committee on Education. In her opening remarks, she said, “This is the first time in history in barangay Bag-otan that the Sk Officials have implemented the distribution of school supplies.” She also encouraged the youth to do their studies very well. It was a heartfelt and fruitful message to everyone present at the event.

In the absence of the punong barangay of barangay bag-otan and all Sangguniang baranggay members, PAZ F. MICOL, the president of the organization in Barangay Bag-Otan, ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, gave her an inspiring and meaningful message of support, encouraging the youth to always participate in any activities of the SK officials and study very well.

In addition, Hon. Erica Floquencio Micol (SK Chairperson) concluded her speech with a heartfelt thank you to all present parents and youth, as well as her SK officials, who are extremely active and supportive of all SK initiatives. She also explained why certain youth may not qualify to receive school materials. She closed her remarks with heartfelt gratitude and encouragement for all student youth.

The Barangay Bag-otan SK OFFICIALS would also like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the KK beneficiaries and supportive parents who have given their time and support to the distribution of school materials. It would not be successful without you. The SK officials are overjoyed to see everyone pleased. They are encouraged by your sweet and sincere smiles, which make them want to achieve even better.
