📣 **Empowering Electricians Through Knowledge and Compliance**
The IIEE Davao Oriental Chapter proudly participated in DORECO's Electrician Summit held on May 3, 2025. This significant event brought together electrical professionals to discuss the vital aspects of Republic Act No. 7920, also known as the "New Electrical Engineering Law".
RA 7920 serves as the cornerstone for regulating the practice, licensing, and registration of electrical engineers and electricians in the Philippines. It delineates the qualifications required for various electrical practitioners, outlines the scope of professional practice, and sets standards to ensure public safety and professional integrity.
During the summit, key topics included the importance of adhering to the Philippine Electrical Code, the necessity of obtaining proper permits and inspections, and the ethical responsibilities of electrical practitioners. These discussions aimed to reinforce the commitment of electricians to uphold the highest standards in their field.
The IIEE Davao Oriental Chapter also encouraged electricians to apply for the Registered Master Electrician (RME) license, highlighting the benefits of professional growth and compliance with national regulations. Through continuous education and active participation in industry events, we strive to elevate the standards of electrical engineering practice in our region.
