As the crescent moon marks the end of our journey through Ramadhan 1447H, the 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐦 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 joins the entire Ummah in celebrating 𝐄𝐢𝐝’𝐥 𝐅𝐢𝐭𝐫.

This month has been more than just a period of fasting; it was a season of profound growth. From our inspiring Seminar Series and the creative energy of the Musabaqah to the quiet moments of reflection at our Iftar Drive, we have grown closer as a community. While we bid farewell to the blessed days of Ramadhan, we carry its lessons—patience, gratitude, and discipline—into the rest of the year.

The significance of this day is beautifully captured in the wisdom of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) who spoke of the divine call to those who have completed their devotion.

"𝑊ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑎𝑦 𝑜𝑓 𝐸𝑖𝑑’𝑙 𝐹𝑖𝑡𝑟 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑠, 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑙𝑠 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑔𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑠 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑟𝑜𝑎𝑑𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑐𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑜𝑢𝑡: '𝐺𝑜 𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑡ℎ, 𝑂 𝑀𝑢𝑠𝑙𝑖𝑚𝑠, 𝑡𝑜 𝑎 𝑀𝑜𝑠𝑡 𝐺𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑠 𝐿𝑜𝑟𝑑 𝑤ℎ𝑜 𝑔𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑠 𝑚𝑢𝑐ℎ 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑟𝑒𝑤𝑎𝑟𝑑𝑠 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑎 𝑔𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡 𝑟𝑒𝑤𝑎𝑟𝑑.'" (𝐴𝑙-𝑀𝑢’𝑗𝑎𝑚 𝑎𝑙-𝐾𝑎𝑏𝑖𝑟)

Today, we embrace this reward as one Ummah. It is a day to honor the strength we found in our devotion and the bonds we strengthened in our service to one another.

On this blessed day, we pray that Allah (SWT) accepts our fasts, our prayers, and our humble acts of service. May your homes be filled with peace, your hearts with joy, and your tables with the company of loved ones.

𝐴𝑙ℎ𝑎𝑚𝑑𝑢𝑙𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑎ℎ!

Even as our official Ramadhan Activities has drawn to a close, the spirit of the month continues to shine through our community. On Tuesday, March 17, we gathered at the New Musallah to share more than just a meal—we shared a moment of pure solidarity.

It was heartening to see familiar faces from our recent competitions and new friends alike coming together under one roof. While the trophies have been handed out and the lectures concluded, the act of breaking fast together reminded us that the true essence of Ramadhan is found in these quiet moments of connection and sadaqah.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Governor Aljazy Saavedra of the Faculty of Business and Management Student Organization (FBMSO) and her family for sponsoring the iftar. Shukran katheeran for walking this path of service with us and for your dedication to the Muslim student body.

What an incredible way to wrap up our Ramadhan Activities! Yesterday, the DOrSU Conference Room was filled with a shared spirit of iman and fellowship as we held the Ramadhan 1447H Grand Finale. It was an afternoon that perfectly captured our goal of strengthening the heart and the mind.

The program opened with inspiring remarks from Ms Hasmera M. Pacio, who reminded everyone of the enduring lessons and spiritual growth gained through fasting, prayer, and the pursuit of balance between academic responsibilities and one’s deen throughout the blessed month. She also extended heartfelt gratitude to all active and supportive DORSU Administration, Muslim students, faculty members, staff, and partner organizations who contributed to the success of the Ramadan activities.

The Office of Muslim Community Affairs and Development, under the leadership of Hon. Xander B**g Alcantara and represented during the program by Alim Aljobair Decayan, also conveyed a message of support to Muslim students, highlighting their continued commitment to promoting a more halal and supportive environment.

We were also privileged to learn from two esteemed speakers who brought deep perspective to our student lives. 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐤𝐡 𝐌𝐨𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐝 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐧 encouraged the youth to strive in the jihad an-nafs—the inner struggle against modern temptations and distractions—while nurturing discipline, iman, and (adab) character. Meanwhile, 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐤𝐡 𝐘𝐚𝐡𝐲𝐚 𝐆. 𝐑𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚 shared valuable guidance on maintaining a balanced life, harmonizing academic pursuits with continuous Islamic learning and spiritual development.

The program was further honored by a special message from our OSA Head, Mr Felipe Cergas Jr., whose steadfast support continues to empower the initiatives and mission of Muslim students on campus. We likewise extend our sincere appreciation to the Davao Oriental State University Administrative and Academic Officials, headed by University President Dr. Roy Ponce, for their unwavering support of our activities and initiatives—truly reflecting a university that values inclusion, understanding, and community engagement.

The program then highlighted the talents of the Muslim students through the Ramadhan Musabaqah 2026, featuring Fareeq promotional videos and the sacred art of Arabic calligraphy. The segment concluded with an awarding ceremony honoring the dedication and excellence of the participants and winners.

The program concluded with the Iftar Drive, where we gathered as one Ummah to break our fast together in the spirit of unity and gratitude. Jazakumullahu khayr to Theta Rho Sigma, Iftar Drive Mindanao - Mati Chapter, and a generous private individual from ISCAG PH for their invaluable support in making this iftar drive and our finale event possible. We also extend our sincere gratitude to our MSO alumni, external iftar & event sponsors and Mahad Bashaer Al-khair visitors for gracing the event with their presence. May Allah reward you all abundantly for your kindness and generosity.

As this blessed chapter comes to a close, we carry forward the lessons, strengthened bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood, and renewed iman that this sacred month has gifted us.

Stay tuned for our next Iftar Pantry initiative coming next week, in sha Allah!
