We extend our heartfelt gratitude to CENRO‑Ormoc, DENR Region VIII, and most especially to Ma’am Loreta Baldonaza, RPF and her dedicated staff for the successful DENR Permitting on Wheels in Matag‑ob last April 15, 2026 at the Liga Hall.

This initiative is a big relief for the Matag‑obanons as it brings essential DENR services closer to the community, saving time, effort, and resources. Your commitment has made government service more accessible, efficient, and responsive to the people’s needs.

Maayong adlaw kaninyong tanan! Karong umaabot nga Abril 15, 2026 (Miyerkules), gikan sa alas 9:00 sa buntag hangtod alas 12:00 sa udto, anaa ang atong DENR Region VIII uban sa atong CENR Officer sa Ormoc City alang sa DENR Express nga pagahimoon sa Old Evacuation Center, Matag-ob, Leyte.

Kini nga kalihokan nagtinguha nga dalhon ang mga serbisyo sa DENR duol sa katawhan aron mas dali ug mas paspas ninyong ma-avail ang mga kinahanglanon nga permit ug sertipikasyon.

March 22 -The Adopt the Estero Program in Matag-ob, held in conjunction with World Water Day, combined municipal planning with barangay-level action. The LGU provided strategic direction by identifying estero segments, designating areas for each barangay, and laying the groundwork for long-term stewardship. This ensured clear responsibilities and active participation from every barangay.

This initiative marks the beginning of a sustained effort to protect and rehabilitate waterways. With continued collaboration among the LGU, BLGUs, and the community, the program will grow into a lasting commitment to cleaner water and healthier ecosystems.

As part of this effort, the LGU and BLGUs remind everyone that rivers are not trash bins — they are our richness. Waterways provide life, livelihood, and biodiversity. Throwing garbage into rivers pollutes not only the water but also the future of our children. Clean rivers mean healthier families, stronger communities, and more abundant harvests.

This is a call to action: let us respect our rivers, protect them from pollution, and preserve them as treasures for generations to come.

Ayaw nato pagsunog sa mga uhot sa atong kabasakan. Ang pagsunog makadaot sa atong hangin ug makadugang sa greenhouse gases nga nagpasamot sa climate change.

🔥 Ang a*o gikan sa pagsunog sa uhot dili lang makadaot sa atong panglawas, makapasamot pa sa kainit sa kalibutan.
🌾 Imbis sunogon, pwede nato gamiton ang uhot isip pataba sa yuta o himuon nga organikong abono.

💚 Ang gamay nga buhat nato karon, dako kaayo ug tabang sa pagpanalipod sa atong uma ug sa kalibutan.

🌍 Municipal Ordinance No. 195

“Sa Basura, May Kwarta Ordinance”

The Local Government Unit of Matag‑ob, through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), values discarded materials by turning them into income‑generating resources. This ordinance promotes proper waste disposal and segregation at source, encouraging everyone to bring recyclables to their barangay’s Material Recovery Facility (MRF).
