🙂
Through the years, we have noticed that there are schools changing the color of their respective school buildings. However as contained in DepEd Order No. 6, s. 2021, DepEd has codified the exact standard color scheme for public school buildings.
DepEd Order No. 006, s. 2021 is entitled Re-Establishment of Minimum Performance Standards and Specifications (MPSS) for DepEd School Buildings Using Alternative Construction Materials. If one will still remember, it is already mentioned earlier in 2017 through DepEd Order 64, s. 2017.
The Specific Section: Item VI.A.1 (Painting) of the Enclosure to this Order explicitly details the exact standard paint/color schedule that must be followed for uniformity across all public schools.
Because schools occasionally drift away from the standard colors during local repaintings or Brigada Eskwela, DepEd constantly issues national and division-level memorandums to strictly enforce DO 006, s. 2021 and to remind school heads and contractors that no deviations from the beige-and-green scheme are permitted.
DepEd Memorandum (issued April 16, 2019): Standard Color Scheme for Gabaldon Heritage School Buildings, which serves as the separate specific guideline forcing heritage structures to use Ivory White, Floral White, Saddle Brown, and Firebrick Red instead of the standard MPSS colors.
Political Branding is prohibited by way of DepEd Order No. 32, s. 2010 (Prohibition of Branding of School Projects/Buildings with Names, Faces, or Icons of Personalities), which mandates that public education facilities must remain strictly neutral and uniform.
So next time that you are thinking of changing the color of your respective schools, this is the answer. Follow the guidelines.
