Rotary Club and Rotaract Club of Marikina West

The Rotary Club of Marikina West was chartered on 28 June 1984 under the leadership of Charter President Fernando “Nanding” Gose. Guided by the spirit of discovering a “New World of Service,” its members sought to expand Rotary’s mission by engaging the younger generation in leadership, fellowship, and community service. Recognizing the potential of their sons, daughters, and other young adults to become future community leaders, the Rotary Club of Marikina West organized and sponsored the Rotaract Club of Marikina West. The Rotaract Club of Marikina West was originally chartered on 15 February 1985 under Club ID No. 10727, with Michelli Mae Gose serving as its Charter President. Rotaract is a global organization of young leaders committed to community service, professional development, fellowship, and international understanding. Rotaract clubs manage their own activities and projects while working closely with their sponsoring Rotary clubs as partners in service. Throughout its history, the Rotaract Club of Marikina West has implemented community, environmental, and youth-development initiatives in Marikina City. Among its notable areas of service were projects conducted along the Marikina River Park and in different barangays and communities. Several former RACMW members eventually became professionals and members of the Rotary Club of Marikina West. They continued supporting the club by mentoring and guiding succeeding generations of Rotaractors, preserving the organization’s tradition of volunteerism and service. Francisco, the club expanded its membership beyond the families of Rotary members and opened opportunities for young adults from different barangays, colleges, and communities in Marikina City. After an administrative interruption, the club was officially rechartered on 29 April 2026 under Club ID No. 8828282. De Guzman became the club’s Rechartered President for Rotary Year 2026–2027, marking a renewed chapter in the history of RACMW. Today, the Rotaract Club of Marikina West continues its legacy as one of the longest-established Rotaract clubs in Rotary International District 3800—developing young leaders, strengthening fellowship, and creating meaningful impact in Marikina and beyond.
