"Rotaract Club of Marikina West is One of the Oldest Chartered Rotaract Club in Rotary International District 3800" CLUB HISTORY

Rotary Club of Marikina West was chartered on June 28, 1984 under the leadership of President Fernando “Nanding” Gose with the team they discovered a “New World of Service”. Most
of the members of the Golden West came from and live at Provident Villages, Marikina City, Rotary Club of Marikina West decided to have a Rotaract Club where in their sons and daughters are the members and the group was formally formed and named, Rotaract Club of Marikina West. Rotaract Club is a service club for young men and women ages 18-30 who are dedicated to community and international service. Rotaract Clubs are self-governing and self-supporting and can be either university or community based. Individual Rotary Club sponsor Rotaract clubs and offer guidance and support, making the Rotaract clubs through “partners in service” and key members of the family of Rotary. Rotaract Club focuses on the development of young adults as leaders in their communities and workplaces. Clubs around the world also take part in international service projects, in a global effort to bring peace and international understanding to the world. Like an outstanding project along the Marikina Riverpark, Rotary Club and Rotaract Club of Marikina West do a lot of projects in barangay, community and for the environment. Some of the past members of Rotaract Club of Marikina West are now members of Rotary Club of Marikina West. Now, they have their own profession but they still have the blood of being a true volunteer of Rotary Club and Rotaract Club. They always support and help the new generation members of their past group, the Rotaract Club of Marikina West. Now, for the new generation of membership and to have more and big population of Rotaract Club members under the term of First Class President Alilie Francisco, the group is now open to different barangay and college school in Marikina City.
