PCCI NEW MARIKINA | Building a Safer and More Prepared Business Community
A safe business environment is a shared responsibility.
Today, Philippine Chamber of Commerce & Industry - New Marikina , in cooperation with DTI Marikina, conducted the Training on Business Security, Safety & Peace and Order: Strengthening MSME Preparedness for a Safer Business Environment, bringing together local entrepreneurs and business owners to strengthen awareness, preparedness, and coordination in responding to security and emergency situations.
We are grateful to our resource speaker, PCol. Jenny Tecson, Chief of Police, for sharing practical insights on how businesses can better prepare, respond, and coordinate during critical incidents.
Among the important lessons highlighted during the session were:
Protect the People β human life must always come first. Businesses should understand their risks, establish layered protection systems, and be ready to act during the first critical minutes of an incident.
Pursue Peace and Order β effective response requires accurate and timely information, clear coordination, and a common operating picture among businesses, police, emergency responders, and the community.
Uphold Professionalism β know the limits of authority, preserve evidence, communicate responsibly, and allow trained authorities to properly manage an incident.
Continuous Training and Learning β preparedness is not simply having a written plan. Businesses must regularly review procedures, identify gaps, train their people, and learn from every incident.
