TESDA NCR Launched WorldSkills Philippines – NCR 2026, Showcasing 38 Skill Areas and Future-Ready Workforce Development
TAGUIG CITY, Philippines — April 21, 2026 — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority – National Capital Region (TESDA NCR) officially launches WorldSkills Philippines – NCR 2026 today, marking a major step in advancing technical-vocational excellence and strengthening the region’s globally competitive workforce.
The Kick-Off Program, held at the TESDA Auditorium, TESDA Complex in Taguig City, brings together government leaders, industry partners, training institutions, and aspiring competitors in a unified effort to elevate skills development in the National Capital Region.
The initiative will highlight 38 competition skill areas spanning key industries such as construction, information technology, creative industries, and manufacturing—reflecting the evolving demands of the global labor market.
“WorldSkills is more than a competition—it is a national platform for excellence, discipline, and transformation. It empowers Filipino talent to meet global standards and seize international opportunities,” said TESDA NCR Regional Director Angelina M. Carreon, CESO III.
Over the years, WorldSkills Philippines has produced competitors who have represented the country in international competitions, demonstrating the capability of Filipino skilled workers on the global stage.
TESDA Deputy Director General Vidal Villanueva III emphasized the broader impact of the initiative:
“Through WorldSkills, we are not only preparing competitors—we are shaping a workforce that is agile, innovative, and responsive to industry needs.”
The program includes the official unveiling of the 2026 theme, presentation of competitors and experts, and a ceremonial launch symbolizing TESDA’s continued commitment to inclusive and future-ready skills development.
TESDA NCR continues to lead efforts in expanding access to technical education, aligning training with industry requirements, and empowering Filipino workers through innovation and skills excellence.
