The University of the Visayas (UV) and Moirasia Foundation, Inc. formally strengthened their commitment to expanding educational opportunities through the ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on July 8, 2026, at the UV-HRM Restaurant.

The partnership establishes the Moirasia Youth Excellence Scholarship (YES) Program, which aims to provide financial assistance to deserving yet economically challenged students, helping them pursue quality education and achieve their academic goals.

In her opening message, UV Vice President for Finance and QMS Dr. Rosemarie Espaรฑol, who is also the Dean of the College of Business Administration, described the MOA signing as a testament to the shared belief that education has the power to transform lives and uplift communities.

For his part, Moirasia Foundation Trustee and Corporate Secretary Paolo Romano Garcia emphasized that the agreement is not only a formal signing, it is a promise to support students with talent and determination by providing them with opportunities to succeed.

Through this meaningful tie-up, both institutions reaffirm their dedication to empowering deserving students, paving the way for greater access to education and brighter opportunities for future success.

Garcia & Co., CPAs (Crowe Philippines), proudly welcomes its newest academic partners in Cebu โ€” University of the Visayas - Cebu, University of San Jose- Recoletos, University of Cebu, Inc., University of Southern Philippines Foundation, and University of San Carlos.

Through these partnerships, the Moirasia Youth Excellence Scholarship (YES) Program will support 30 deserving Cebuano scholars beginning Academic Year 2026โ€“2027 with tuition assistance, leadership and skills development, mentoring, work exposure, board exam support, and career opportunities.

Education remains one of the most powerful tools for breaking the cycle of poverty, creating opportunities, and empowering communities. As we celebrate the 61st Founding Anniversary of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM), Moirasia Foundation joins the university community in honoring a legacy of excellence, service, and transformative education through Kumustahan 2026 and Himig Haribon.

For years, PLM has been a valued partner in our shared mission of expanding access to quality higher education for deserving students, particularly those from underserved and financially challenged backgrounds. Through this partnership, many young people have been given the opportunity to pursue their academic aspirations, develop their potential, and become future leaders who contribute meaningfully to their families, communities, and the nation.

Ang kalayaan na ating tinatamasa ngayon ay bunga ng katapangan at sakripisyo ng ating mga bayani. Bilang pagtanaw, nawaโ€™y isabuhay natin ang kanilang diwa sa pamamagitan ng pagkakaisa, malasakit, at pagbabahagi sa ating kapwa.

Sa bawat pagtulong at pagbibigay, ipinapakita natin na ang tunay na kalayaan ay hindi lamang para sa sarili kundi para sa pag-angat ng buong sambayanan.
