The President arrived at the Batasang Pambansa shortly before the scheduled 4:00 p.m. address, as lawmakers opened the second regular session of the 20th Congress. Marcos’ fifth SONA is expected to highlight the administration’s accomplishments, address the country’s pressing concerns, and lay out its priorities for the remaining years of his term.

Among the major issues drawing public attention are corruption, food prices, economic growth, governance, and accountability. Public expectations remain high as Filipinos await concrete plans and commitments from the administration on issues directly affecting their daily lives.

The SONA is also being held amid heightened security preparations in Metro Manila. Earlier today, authorities reported the recovery of a suspected improvised explosive device near the Senate, while an explosion was also reported near the Department of Justice. Authorities said there were no reported casualties in the DOJ incident, while security around the President remained at a maximum level.

Meanwhile, thousands of people have gathered along Commonwealth Avenue, with supporters and protesters expressing their respective hopes, demands, and criticisms as the President addresses the nation.

The 2026 SONA marks a crucial point in the Marcos administration, with the President entering the final phase of his six-year term. For many Filipinos, however, the true measure of the address will not be the length of the speech—but the government’s ability to turn promises into tangible results.

𝗟𝗮𝗽𝘂𝘆𝗮𝗻, 𝗭𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗿 — Lapuyan National High School conducted a school-based deworming activity on July 20, 2026, for its students, with the support of the Rural Health Unit (RHU), Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), and the School Nurse, alongside the unwavering support of the School Principal, Sir Bagundol Ombina Arnold.

The activity aimed to promote the health and well-being of learners through preventive health care and proper monitoring. The participation of the RHU, BHWs, and school nurse helped ensure the proper implementation of the health initiative among the students.

The unwavering support of the school principal further strengthened the school’s efforts to safeguard the health and welfare of its learners, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in promoting a healthier learning environment.

Through the joint efforts of the school and local health workers, the initiative underscored the importance of community cooperation in supporting student health and wellness.

𝗟𝗮𝗽𝘂𝘆𝗮𝗻, 𝗭𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗗𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗿 — Nearly 𝟴𝟬𝟬 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨, 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨, and 𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙨 of the school community joined the 𝗟𝗮𝗽𝘂𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 (𝗟𝗡𝗛𝗦) 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 along Lapuyan Municipal Road, officially setting the stage for this year’s athletic competitions.

The grand parade brought together approximately 758 students and 32 teachers, along with other participants and stakeholders, in a vibrant display of school spirit, unity, and sportsmanship.

Waving banners and representing their respective teams, the participants marched through the municipal road, filling the area with cheers and enthusiasm as the LNHS community celebrated the opening of its annual intramural games.

The event marked the beginning of a series of competitions where student-athletes will showcase their skills, determination, and teamwork while upholding the values of fair play, camaraderie, and sportsmanship.

With nearly 800 members of the school community taking part, the LNHS Intramurals 2026 Grand Parade underscored the school’s collective enthusiasm for sports and the power of athletic events to unite the entire school community.
