𝗜𝗬𝗢𝗚 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝗘𝗰𝗼-𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽 🌿

June 27-28, 2026—The Inspired Young Optimists Guild (IYOG) successfully conducted its Eco-Connect Youth Camp 2026, a two-day youth environmental camp that brought together young individuals to learn, collaborate, and take meaningful action under the theme, "Connecting Youth, Inspiring Environmental Action and Responsibility". The two-day program was held at Mindanao State University - Main Campus (MSU). In observance of Philippine Environment Month, the two-day environmental education and action program focused on driving young individuals to become proactive in environmental protection and sustainability.

The program was carefully organized by Batch Kanlungan, under the dedicated leadership of Project Head Adnairah P. Macadato (Bing²) ensures a smooth and dynamic flow throughout the both days. The initiative brought together passionate students and individuals, delivering meaningful experiential learning, enthusiasm, and direct community action.

Day one kicked off with the arrival and orientation of participants, followed by high-energy activity to set expectations and build early momentum. The main morning program featured an eye-opening environmental education lecture titled "From Awareness to Action: The Role of Youth in Environmental Protection" delivered by distinguished guest speaker Nurhassan P. Abubacar, RN, CSE. This was immediately followed by a creative eco-art showcase, allowing the delegates to translate their Environmental perspectives into visual expressions before breaking the lunch.

The afternoon of Day One transitioned into interactive team-building activities aimed at enhancing teamwork and foster critical thinking. The day concluded with an intimate eco-reflection session and a venue clean-up, letting participants openly share their thoughts, insights, and collective realizations about their personal roles in conservation.

Day two put those shared insights straight into real-world action. Assembling early in the morning, the delegates and facilitators took part in an extensive campus clean-up drive across selected areas of MSU-Main, putting proper waste management through direct environmental service.

The camp wrapped up with a heartwarming awarding and recognition ceremony, concluded by final reflection and a proper turnover session. This closing event served for mutual appreciation, emphasizing that the youth are truly never too young to lead when it comes to defending our ecosystem.

This Eco-Connect Youth Camp proved to be an enriching experience—one that built lasting bonds, developed critical environmental awareness, and successfully turned passionate intent into meaningful action for our environment.

On June 27, 2026, Saturday — Our Eco-Connect Youth Camp 2026 journey officially kicked off! The Inspired Young Optimists Guild was incredibly honored to have and learn from our distinguished guest speaker, NURHASSAN P. ABUBACAR, RN, CSE during the morning session of Day 1.

Delivering a powerful presentation titled: "From Awareness to Action: The Role of Youth in Environmental Protection," reminding everyone that we are never too young to lead. During his session at the MSU-IPDM Convergence Hall, he imparted important insights, valuable knowledge, and a new holistic perspective on how youth can actively lead meaningful environmental action and sustainable community practices. Our Eco-Warriors left the hall thoroughly inspired and equipped with a greater sense of youth leadership for the environment.

Our sincere thanks to Sir Nurhassan for leading our campers and for being a part of our mission towards a greener and more sustainable community.

Eco-Connect Camp 2026: A Two-Day Environmental Camp is an environmental education and action program that brings together students and interested individuals through interactive learning sessions, environmental team-building activities, reflection sessions, and a campus clean-up drive. The program aims to promote environmental awareness, leadership, teamwork, and active community engagement among participants.

Date: June 27–28, 2026 (Saturday–Sunday)

Time:
Day 1 – 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Day 2 – 6:00 AM–11:30 AM

Venue: MSU Main Campus (IPDM Hall, Golf Course, and selected clean-up areas)

Open to all students and interested individuals

Registration Fee: ₱70.00 per participant

The registration fee will help cover meals, materials, certificates, prizes, and other program-related expenses. Any excess funds, if applicable, will be properly accounted for and returned to participants.

Note: This is a day-only program. No accommodation or overnight stay will be provided. Participants will return home after each day’s activities.

We are proud to share one of the achievements of the Inspired Young Optimists Guild: receiving two awards last May 30, 2026, at the Social Hall of the Provincial Capitol, Lanao del Sur. The event was organized by the Association of Registered Campus Student Organizations (ARCSO) with the theme “Gabi ng Pagkilala: Parangal sa Galing, Pagpupugay sa Pamumuno.”

The organization was recognized with the Best Organization Initiative Award for its bloodletting initiative, and the ARCSO Top Student Organization Award.

This recognition reflects our continued commitment to service, leadership, and meaningful community impact. To all the YOGIs, this milestone is for all of us!

𝗠𝘀. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗺 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗮 is a licensed Psychometrician and a Cum Laude graduate of the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Mindanao State University Main Campus. She is also a Certified Human Resource Associate (CHRA). Throughout her journey, she has consistently demonstrated dedication to leadership and community service. She previously served as Screening Chairperson of the Inspired Young Optimists Guild, where she contributed to youth empowerment and community development initiatives. Her commitment to service was recognized through the Top 10 Outstanding Student Service Award (TOSSA), honoring her contributions to the wider community.

With a strong commitment to mental health advocacy, psychological well-being, and student support systems, Ms. Disomimba now serves as the 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 through 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼. 𝟬𝟳𝟱-𝟮𝟲𝗖, where she coordinates mental health initiatives, supports the delivery of student-centered psychological services, and helps foster safe, responsive, and supportive spaces that promote holistic well-being and resilience
