Eight years since the Marawi Siege, the pain, loss, and injustice still live in the hearts of the Meranaos.

As we mark the 8th anniversary of the Marawi Siege, here’s a throwback to last year’s commemoration——a powerful advocacy video that showcases the Transitional Justice and Reconciliation efforts led by civil society organizations.

The video follows the real-life journeys of Mr. Ramadan O. Muntor of the Reclaiming Marawi Movement and Ms. Aina Mambuay of the MATAID Organization—internally displaced persons (IDP) leaders who continue to fight for their rights through Transitional Justice and Reconciliation (TJR). From the call for a to the demand for , this video is a call to action.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: Kalimudan is excited to welcome a new group of 20 interns from the Mindanao Institute of Technology, Inc. (MIT), all pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Social Work. These students are required to complete a 1,000-hour On-The-Job Training as part of their curriculum.

𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐝𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝟏𝟎𝟎% 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐈 – 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬!

All 23 scholars in Batch 4 of Kalimudan Technical Vocational School successfully passed their Dressmaking NCII assessment, held from August 15 to 18, 2024, at the Pagari Assessment Center in Marantao.

After completing their 35-day DRM NCII training with Kalimudan TVI under the Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) Program, scholars took their assessment, demonstrating their mastery of the four core DRM NCII competencies: pattern drafting, cutting, sewing, and finishing casual apparel.

Following their training, KFI scholars did their Job Shadowing Program at Brilliant Tailoring where they gained hands-on exposure to real-world job opportunities as dressmakers. Congratulations to Batch 4-ture Mananahi!

This recognition was awarded on July 23, 2024, during the Lanao del Sur Disaster Resilience Summit 2024, held at the Provincial Capitol in Marawi City.

The workshop was hosted by United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) in partnership with Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD).

In preparation for their Dressmaking NCII assessment, Batch 4 of KFI-TESDA scholars shows off the partially finished blouses and pants they sewn themselves. They are nearing the end of their 35-day DRM NCII training with Kalimudan TVI under the Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) and are gearing up for their pre-assessment in the coming weeks.

This batch is the first to fully adopt the Biometric-Enabled Scholarship Registration Management System. Kudos to all the scholars for their compliance and hard work. Best of luck, Batch 4!

Family and Intergenerational Conversation between chold and parents was held in Barangay Tambo Piagapo, Lanao del Sur last July 22, 2024. These discussions allow children and parents to share perspectives on current trends, opportunities, challenges, and accomplishments.

The ‘Peacebuilding and Transitional Justice in Transforming Conflicts and Preventing Extremist Violence’ project is a project by Kalimudan in partnership with Initiatives for International Dialogue (IID) and funded by Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF).

𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝟮 𝗞𝗙𝗜-𝗧𝗘𝗦𝗗𝗔 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴!

Kalimudan, along with Marawi TVIs FM Sorla, SGA, and MIT, celebrated the completion of skills training for all completers from different courses on July 18, 2024 at Barangay Sandab, Butig.

After the assessment, with all 25 KFI-TESDA completers passing their exams, Kalimudan maintains a 100% passing rate for all the courses we offer. Alhamdulillah!

Kalimudan participated in the Training on Political Education for BARMM’s first Parliamentary Elections in 2025, held on June 26-27, 2024, at Seda Abreeza Hotel, Davao City. This Political Education Program, organized by the Institute for Autonomy and Governance (IAG), aims to equip Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) with the necessary knowledge and skills such as effective communication and civic engagement to effectively educate the broader population about BARMM’s parliamentary system of government.

Kalimudan joined the Staff Readiness Training (SRT) with CARE Philippines colleagues and Nisa Ul-Haqq Fi Bangsamoro NGO based in Tawi-Tawi under the Humanitarian Partnership Portal (HPP), in Quezon City, Manila.

Kalimudan is represented by its Communication staff, and partner youth organization from Ompongan Youth Organization (OYO) and cause-oriented group from Reclaiming Marawi Movement (RMM).

The training program prepares participants to work with confidence and resilience in challenging environments. It ensures that staff understand field risks and equips them with readiness skills, operational and security risk management strategies (risk reduction and control), and approaches in humanitarian access and negotiation.
