The "Markaz" as is popularly known is a non-profit, non-government organization founded in 1978 by a group of Filipino students abroad, and in particular at the State of Kuwait, headed by the late Mohammad Qassem Malaco Tarusan. It was officially registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Manila in 1983. The Markaz is primarily committed to the total development of the youth - i

ts potential role in community building, in effecting change through education, social reform, and in reaching out people and community, enjoining what is lawful and forbidding what is harmful, and in respecting the basic rights and duties of man to others, his society, the environment, and to God Almighty in the best ways possible. Strategically, the Markaz strictly adheres to the Qur'anic gudance: "Say thou: This is my way, I do invite unto God on evidence clear as the seeing with one's eyes, I and whoever follows me, Glory to God! And never will I join gods with God" (S.XII-108) and the Prophet saying (May Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him): "I have left unto you two things, for as long as you hold unto it, never shall thou be misguided after me: the Book of Allah (Qur'an) and my Ways (Sunnah)"- Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah.

OFFICIAL VISIT

The Markazosshabab Al-Muslim Fil-Filibbin Foundation, Inc. conducted an official visit to Indonesia through one of its Board of Trustees and Executive Committee members.

During the visit, Abdulcader Pacalna Abbas Jr. met with Suhaib Jasim, News Bureau Chief of Al Jazeera Arabic News Channel based in Jakarta, Indonesia, to discuss matters concerning Muslim Filipinos, particularly the upcoming elections in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

He also met with Dr. Muzamil Yusuf, Congressman and President of the Prosperous Justice Party.

Abdulcader Pacalna Abbas Jr. currently serves as a news producer in Southern Philippines.

Markazoshabab mourns the passing of Dr. Hamid Barra.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family, colleagues, and community of Dr. Hamid Barra—a respected educator, Islamic scholar, public servant, and a true partner in social reform.

Dr. Barra was a valued partner of Markazoshabab in advancing community-based initiatives and meaningful social projects. Most recently, we were honored to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Usrah Foundation, an institution he founded and led with vision and sincerity. His commitment to education, reform, and service leaves a lasting mark on the communities he served.

We pray that Allah accepts his deeds, forgives his shortcomings, and grants him the highest place in Jannah. May his legacy, impact, and dedication to the ummah continue to inspire generations to come.
