[DISASTER RESPONSE UPDATE: POST-EARTHQUAKE RAPID NEEDS ASSESSMENT]

โ€‹In line with our steadfast commitment to responding to both natural and man-made disasters, the Philippine Humanitarian Care Inc. (PhilCare) recently conducted a Rapid Needs Assessment (RNA) in areas affected by the recent earthquake in General Santos City, the Municipality of Glan, and across the Province of Sarangani.

โ€‹The primary objective of this mission was to evaluate the immediate and critical needs on the ground, ensuring that subsequent relief and rehabilitation efforts are timely, efficient, and well-targeted. This humanitarian initiative was made possible through our close collaboration with the General Santos City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (Gensan-CDRRMC) and the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) of Malapatan.

Alhamdulillah, the seminar โ€œThe Role of Muslim Youth in Community Peacebuilding: An Islamic Perspective on Peace, Participation, and Social Responsibility on Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW)โ€ was successfully conducted for the morit of Jamiatu Janoubel Filibbin.

Organized by Non-Violence Peace Force and Tazkiya Org in coordination with Philippine Humanitarian Care (PhilCare), the program highlighted the vital role of Muslim youth in promoting peace, preventing violence, and contributing positively to their communities through Islamic values and social responsibility.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed speakers, Brother Hamza Adapun and Dr. Omayyah Amer-Tarathingan, for sharing their knowledge and insights. We also commend the participants for their active engagement and commitment to learning.

May Allah ๏ทป enable our youth to become agents of peace, compassion, and constructive change, and may the lessons learned continue to benefit our communities.

As part of this yearโ€™s Eid al-Adha observance, Qurban meat was delivered to selected families in Marogong and Marawi City, Lanao del Sur. The initiative was made possible through the support of RDC-MyGuide and implemented in partnership with Philippine Humanitarian Care.

This effort provided much-needed food assistance to households during the blessed days, while also encouraging the values of compassion, generosity, and social responsibility. It stands as a reminder of how collective action can uplift communities and bring comfort to those in need.

With gratitude and joy, we share the successful distribution of Qurban meat to families in Marogong and Marawi City, Lanao del Sur. This effort was made possible through the support of Human Initiative and carried out by Philippine Humanitarian Care.

As we commemorate Eid al-Adha, this program helped bring nourishment and happiness to many households, reflecting the values of generosity, solidarity, and care for one another. The smiles of the beneficiaries remind us of the impact that collective compassion can create.
