In celebration of the International Day of Living Together in Peace, we honor the power of unity, empathy, and youth-led action in building a more inclusive and compassionate world. This day calls us to reflect on how we, as individuals and communities, can promote peaceful coexistenceโnot just in principle, but in action.
Recently, Amerah Palawan from the Ndayo ta ko Marinaw Peace Action Network (PAN) participated in the SENANG Peace-tival held in Yala, Thailandโa gathering that brought together young peacebuilders from the BARMM region in the Philippines and the Deep South of Thailand. Through music, art, and open dialogue, participants bridged differences and found strength in shared experiences of conflict, resilience, and hope. The Peace-tival served as a powerful reminder that peace is not just the absence of war, but the presence of understanding, respect, and collaboration across communities.
As we mark this global day of reflection, the Ndayo Ta Ko Marinaw Peace Action Network reaffirm its commitment in its continued pursuit for peace. May we be inspired by the voices of young people who continue to lead peace efforts on the ground. From BARMM to Thailand, youth are not waiting for changeโthey are creating it.
Living together in peace is not merely a vision for the future, it is a responsibility for today.
