𝐄𝐢𝐝 𝐚𝐥-𝐅𝐢ṭ𝐫 𝐌𝐮𝐛ā𝐫𝐚𝐤 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐜.

Alḥamdulillāh—by the infinite mercy of Allāh, we have reached the end of the blessed journey of Ramaḍān. Days filled with fasting, nights illuminated with prayer, hearts softened by the recitation of His words, and souls uplifted through sincere duʿā.

As we stand on this joyous day of Eid, we ask Allāh to accept every sacrifice we made for His sake—every hunger endured, every tear shed in humility, and every moment spent seeking His pleasure.

May He fill our hearts with unwavering gratitude, strengthen the bonds within our families, and keep us firm upon His guidance long after Ramaḍān has passed.

Let this Eid not be an end, but a beginning—a renewal of our īmān, a revival of our purpose, and a deeper commitment to serve the dīn with sincerity, humility, and excellence.

We humbly ask for your continued duʿā and support for the Mahad, its students, and its mission to raise a generation devoted to the service of the Ummah.

Taqabbalallāhu minnā wa minkum.
May Allāh accept from us and from you.

Eid Mubārak to you and your loved ones.

The Day of 'Arafah

The Day of 'Arafah

● 10 POINTS ABOUT THE DAY OF 'ARAFAH ●

The most significant day for a Hājī is the day of ‘Arafah. Although Allāh selects only a small number of the Muslim Ummah to physically be present on the plains of 'Arafah on the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah, there are numerous virtues and deeds that are mentioned in relation to the day of 'Arafah that are applicable to those who are faraway.

Hereunder are ten of them.

1. The day of ‘Arafah is one of the best days of the year.

Anas (Radhiyallāhu ‘anhu) says:
“The day of ‘Arafah equals 10,000 days in virtue.”

[At-Targhīb, vol. 2, p. 200, and Latāiful Ma’ārif, p. 460]

2. “On the day of 'Arafah, Allah frees even those who are not physically in Arafah. Therefore, the next day is Eid for all."

[Ibn Rajab (Rahimahullāh) in Latāiful Ma’ārif, p. 48]

3. The Day of ‘Arafah has also been labelled “Yawmul Eid” by ‘Umar (Radhiyallāhu 'anhu), as it’s the day in which Allāh Ta’ala announced the perfection of Islam.

[Sahīh Al-Bukhārī]

4. DO on the Day of ‘Arafah:
- Fast
- Recite kalimah shahadah a lot
- Excessive Du’ā
- Sadaqah

5. DON’T:
- Persist on Sin (i.e, make tawbah -repent- from all sins)
- Be arrogant

*** These 2 types of people are deprived on this blessed day.

[Ibn Rajab (Rahimahullāh) in Latāiful Ma’ārif, pg.494]

6. Dhikr on the Day of ‘Arafah

Rasūlullāh ﷺ would recite the following abundantly on the day of Arafah:

'Lā ilāha illallāhu, wahdahū, Lā sharīka lahū, lahul Mulku, walahul Hamdu, Biyadihil khayru, wahuwa ‘ala kulli shayin qadīr.'

كان أكثر دعاء النبي عليه السلام يوم عرفة,

“لاإلٰه إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، له الملك وله الحمد بيده الخير وهو على كل شئ قدير“

[Musnad Ahmad; Majma’uz Zawāid, vol.3 pg.252]

7. Du'ā of ‘Ali’ (Radhiyallāhu ‘anhu) on the Day of ‘Arafah

'Allāhumma A'tiq Raqabati minan Nār, wa Awsi’ lī minar Rizqil halāl, wa-srif ‘annī Fasaqatil jinni wal Ins.'

Translation: O Allah! Free me from the fire, increase my lawful sustenance, and keep away the transgressive Jin and humans from me.

[Ibn Abi Dunya, see Lataiful Ma’arif, pg.494]

8. “Fasting on the day of 'Arafah will expiate the sins of the past and future year.”

[Sahīh Muslim]

9. Rasūlullāh ﷺ said:
“He who protects his ears, eyes and tongue on this day (Day of ‘Arafah) will be forgiven.”

[Musnad Ahmad with a reliable chain, Majma’uz Zawaid, vol.3 pg.251]

10. The day of ‘Arafah is the day when Shaytan is most humiliated (due to Allāh’s extensive forgiveness).

[Muwatta Imām Mālik, Musnad Ahmad and Ibn Mājah, Hadith: 3013]

Conclusion:
All of the above will have real significance to us if we implement it and not just share it.

May Allāh Ta’ala grant us all the tawfiq (ability) to practice on all the above and may He bless us with repeated opportunities of physically being on the plains of ‘Arafah.

Ameen.

•The significance of the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah•

Depending on your community and region, the first 10 Days of Dhul-Hijjah start this week, In shā ALLĀH (in most places, it starts on Wednesday).

So what are these 10 days?

Dhul-Hijjah is the 12th month of the Islamic calendar, and it is during the first 10 days of this month when Hajj takes place in Saudi Arabia.

Since people performing hajj are continuously worshiping, the Prophet (pbuh) required people who are not on hajj to spend as much time in worship and devotion so there is spiritual solidarity.

Subhānallāh!!!

RASŪLULLĀH ﷺ said:
"There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to ALLĀH S.W.T. than these ten days (of Dhul Hijjah)."
(Sahīh Al-Bukhārī)

1- Fasting the first 9 days:
RASŪLULLĀH (ﷺ) urged us to do good deeds during this time, and fasting is one of the best of deeds.

If a person cannot afford to fast all nine days, he may at least fast the ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah, which is known as the Day of Arafah.

RASŪLULLĀH (ﷺ) is reported to have said:
"Fasting on the day of `Arafah expiates (removes) sins of two years, the past year and the future year."

However, it is also worth mentioning that while fasting the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah is recommended, it is forbidden to fast during the days of the `Eid (the 10th, 11th and 12th days of the month).

2- Extra Worship:
Scholars have stressed that the days and nights of Dhul-Hijjah must be set aside for intensive dedication to worship, increased preoccupation with virtuous acts, and contemplation.

Virtue and contemplation go hand in hand in Islam.

Works that are especially worthy of mentioning include
Reading the Qur-ān;
Making dhikr
[saying Subhānallāh (glory be to Allāh),
Alhamdulillāh (all praise to Allah),
Allāhu Akbar (Allah is Greatest), and
Lā ilāha illallāh (there is no god but Allah)] and
Du'ā;
Performing non-required prayers;
Sending benedictions on RASŪLULLĀH (ﷺ);
Rendering acts of kindness and compassion;
Visiting the sick;
Counseling what is good and forbidding what is wrong;
Bringing peace,
Reconciliation, and harmony among people;
Helping those who are in distress or need;
Showing dutifulness to parents;
Maintaining the ties of kinship and so on.

While all of these works are to be active concerns of all Muslims every single day of their life, these must certainly be multiplied in these days more than any other time.

3- Performing Hajj and Umrah:
One of the best deeds that one can do during these ten days is to perform Hajj to the Sacred House of ALLĀH S.W.T..

The one whom ALLĀH S.W.T. helps to offer Hajj to His House and to perform all the rituals properly is included in the words of the Prophet (ﷺ):
An accepted Hajj brings no less a reward than Paradise.

4- Sacrifice:
One of the good deeds that will bring a person closer to ALLĀH S.W.T. during these ten days is offering a sacrifice.

5- Sincere repentance:
One of the most important things to do during these ten days is to repent sincerely to ALLĀH S.W.T. and to give up all kinds of disobedience and sin.

And ALLĀH S.W.T. knows best...
