To all 𝐌𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐒 in this world, today is a gentle reminder that behind every strong family is a woman who quietly carried sacrifices no one else could see. Many mothers wake up every day carrying exhaustion in their hearts while still choosing to love, nurture, protect, and provide for the people they cherish most. From sleepless nights, silent tears, endless responsibilities, and emotional battles hidden behind warm smiles, mothers continue to give pieces of themselves without asking for recognition. Countless mothers carry unseen burdens while holding their families together with love, patience, and unwavering strength. Ma, alam kong pagod ka na, pero salamat dahil hindi mo kami iniwang lumaban mag isa.

There are mothers who sacrificed their dreams so their children could chase theirs. There are mothers who endured loneliness, heartbreak, financial struggles, and emotional pain while making sure their children still felt safe and loved. Some mothers carry the weight of the world in silence, comforting everyone else while having no one to comfort them in return. Yet despite the pain, they continue to stand, continue to fight, and continue to love with a heart so pure and selfless that words could never fully measure its depth. Their love is not loud, but it is the kind of love that saves lives, heals wounds, and becomes the foundation of a home.

To every mother who feels tired, unseen, or unappreciated, please know that your sacrifices matter, your love is felt, and your strength inspires more people than you realize. The world may never fully understand the battles you fight behind closed doors, but your courage leaves a permanent mark on the hearts of those you raise and care for. Thank you for every silent prayer, every sleepless night, every tear hidden behind a smile, and every act of unconditional love. 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐟𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 | 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝟐

Alhamdulillah. Through the dedication of the organizing team and the generosity of our valued sponsors, the second leg of the Ramadhan Iftar Drive 2026 was successfully conducted last Sunday, March 8, 2026.

This initiative was carried out in partnership with Kisah Bangsamoro, reflecting a shared commitment to extend meaningful support and compassion to communities during the blessed month of Ramadhan.

The activity was held at 𝑯𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒒𝒂𝒉 𝑨𝒍-𝑨𝒃𝒃𝒂𝒔, Brgy. Semba, SPDA 7th Road, Datu Odin Sinsuat, where 𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 of the institution gathered to receive grocery assistance provided by our sponsors. The beneficiaries included resident orphans, non-orphans, and dedicated staff who continuously nurture and guide the students in the institution.

𝑯𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒒𝒂𝒉 𝑨𝒍-𝑨𝒃𝒃𝒂𝒔 serves as a home and learning center for young students not only from Cotabato City, but also from other areas across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), including 𝐁𝐮𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐧, 𝐙𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚, 𝐒𝐮𝐥𝐮, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬, providing them with care, education, and spiritual guidance.

Alhamdulillah, the first leg of the Ramadhan Iftar Drive 2026 was successfully conducted yesterday, February 28, 2026, through the collective dedication of the team and the generosity of our valued sponsors.

The activity took place at the 𝑨𝒃𝒅𝒖𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒉 𝑩𝒊𝒏 𝑴𝒂𝒔-𝑼𝒐𝒅 𝑸𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒄 𝑴𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒛𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑺𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒍 in Zenaida Subdivision, Brgy. RH 8, Cotabato City, where 26 members of the institution, including resident orphans, non-orphans, and committed staff, gathered to share in a simple yet meaningful Iftar.

While modest in scale, the activity carried deep significance. It provided not only nourishment at the time of breaking the fast, but also presence, warmth, and a reminder that communities are strengthened when compassion is put into action. In the spirit of Ramadhan, this initiative reflects a shared commitment to service and empathy. A values that become most powerful when practiced collectively.

Let us take this blessed month as an opportunity to bring out the best in ourselves, strengthen our bond within the Muslim Ummah, and strive to attain Laylatul Qadr.

As narrated by Abu Hurairah (RA), the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

‏ أَتَاكُمْ رَمَضَانُ شَهْرٌ مُبَارَكٌ فَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَيْكُمْ صِيَامَهُ تُفْتَحُ فِيهِ أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءِ وَتُغْلَقُ فِيهِ أَبْوَابُ الْجَحِيمِ وَتُغَلُّ فِيهِ مَرَدَةُ الشَّيَاطِينِ لِلَّهِ فِيهِ لَيْلَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ مَنْ حُرِمَ خَيْرَهَا فَقَدْ حُرِمَ

“There has come to you Ramadhan, a blessed month, which Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has enjoined upon you to fast. In it, the gates of Heaven are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained. In it, Allah has a night that is better than a thousand months; whoever is deprived of its goodness is truly deprived.”

OPEN POSITION ON THE PROPOSAL TO SHIFT FROM NUMERICAL TO LETTER GRADE FOR ALL PRACTICUM, OJT, AND PRACTICE TEACHING, AND ITS EXCLUSION FROM CGPA COMPUTATION FOR LATIN HONORS
Deliberated during the 271st MSU Board of Regents Executive Meeting

June 8, 2025

The Office of the Student Regent and the Federation of Mindanao State University Supreme Student Councils respectfully expresses its position on the proposed shift from numerical to letter grading for all practicum, on-the-job training (OJT), and practice teaching, and its exclusion from the computation of the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) for Latin honors, beginning Academic Year 2025–2026.

We firmly believe that practicum and internships are essential components of a student’s academic formation. These experiences go beyond compliance, they are transformative platforms where students apply knowledge, gain industry insights, and demonstrate competence in real-life settings. It is where many students excel, especially those whose strengths emerge most clearly through hands-on work, leadership, service, and innovation.

To remove practicum grades from CGPA/GPA computation is to devalue the practical, applied dimensions of education. Such a move implies that only theoretical performance matters in determining who graduates with honors. This is not only inequitable, it contradicts our vision of a holistic and inclusive education system that values both cognitive and experiential learning.

The OSR and the FEMSUSSCO respectfully calls for a reconsideration of this proposal and advocates for a framework that continues to honor practical excellence. Latin honors must reflect not just classroom brilliance but also field-based distinction and service.

We hope that as we move forward, we will uphold a balanced and fair system of academic recognition, one that celebrates all dimensions of student achievement.
