𝙑𝘽𝘼 𝘽𝙞𝙤𝙙𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙎𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙩𝙮 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨 𝙄𝙣𝙖𝙪𝙜𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘 𝙈𝙚𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜

The VBA Biodiversity Society successfully convened its 1st Scientific Meeting on September 20 2025, marking a milestone in the organization’s continuing efforts to advance biodiversity research and conservation.

Held as the Society’s inaugural scientific gathering, the meeting brought together members, researchers, and partners to share recent findings, exchange ideas, and build collaborations on biodiversity-related issues across the Philippines. The program featured plenary talks and open forums designed to highlight innovative studies and best practices.

A major highlight of the day was the 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, which provided a platform for students and early-career scientists to present their research outputs. Participants showcased posters on topics ranging from flora and fauna inventories, habitat restoration, and emerging conservation technologies, demonstrating the depth and diversity of work being done under the Society’s banner.

The event not only celebrated scientific achievements but also underscored the Society’s role in nurturing the next generation of biodiversity advocates. As a first-of-its-kind gathering, it set the tone for future meetings and collaborations aimed at strengthening conservation science and practice in the region.
