“There is no evil AI—only the choices we make with it.
Humans can work alongside AI, not against it.”

Artificial intelligence is not a moral agent; it reflects the intentions, values, and wisdom of the people who use it. The real question is not whether AI is good or bad, but how responsibly and ethically we shape its role in our lives. With discernment, creativity, and vigilance, AI becomes a partner—not a threat—in building a more humane future.

“For us to figure out how we can do philosophy with Artificial Intelligence, let’s ask the question: How do we do philosophy without AI?”

Before we explore what AI can add to our thinking, we must first return to the heart of philosophy itself—wonder, reflection, dialogue, and the courage to ask difficult questions. Only when we understand the essence of thinking unassisted can we truly see how AI fits into the picture.

AI may change the tools we use, but the responsibility to think remains ours.

“Crisis of trust, autonomy, and connection — this is the challenge for all teachers in dealing with students’ use of AI.”
-excerpt from the talk of Dr. Tulang on AI.

As AI becomes more present in the classroom, educators are called to navigate a new landscape:
How do we maintain trust when answers can be generated instantly?
How do we protect autonomy when thinking can be outsourced?
How do we sustain human connection when screens mediate our learning?

The task is not to reject AI, but to guide our students toward using it wisely — as a partner in growth, not a substitute for genuine understanding.

“Philosophy is not the mere possession of correct answers, but the ability to struggle with ideas.”
- Excerpt from Dr. Caslib's talk on PSBI Conference.

In an age where AI can generate answers in seconds, the real work of philosophy becomes even more essential. What matters is not just what we know, but how deeply we wrestle with the questions that shape our humanity.

AI may offer information — but only we can confront uncertainty, challenge assumptions, and seek wisdom through honest struggle. 🤍💭

Let us continue thinking, questioning, and doing philosophy with courage.

“When we are driving a car, we are actually not driving the vehicle but ourselves.”
— Dr. Maboloc

In the same way, when we use AI, we aren’t simply operating a tool — we are revealing the kind of thinkers, creators, and decision-makers we choose to be. 🤖✨

AI does not replace our rationality; it reflects it. Its direction depends on our discipline, our intentions, and our moral compass. The machine extends our abilities, but we remain the driver.

To use AI well is to understand ourselves well.
To guide AI responsibly is to guide our own reason.

As we journey deeper into the dialogue between human thought and artificial mind, we’re reminded that every byte of intelligence began with a spark — the wonder of human reason.

Day 2 celebrates not just what AI can do, but what it reveals about us: our creativity, our logic, and our endless pursuit to understand the world we’ve built. 💭

Let’s keep asking, imagining, and philosophizing — for even in the age of machines, it is the human spirit that truly thinks.

"The Mind That Dreamed the Machine"
We taught the wires to think and feel,
A spark of thought from hands so real.
In circuits bright, our wonder gleams—
For nature birthed the coder’s dreams.

In every algorithm and line of code lies a reflection of our own curiosity — the brilliance of natural intelligence mirrored in what we create. As we explore “Doing Philosophy with AI,” may we never forget that before machines could think, it was the human mind that dared to dream. 💭🤖✨

📜 “For a Student Who Used AI to Write a Paper”
by Joseph Fasano

Now I let it fall back in the grasses.
I hear you. I know this life is hard now.
I know your days are precious on this earth.
But what are you trying to be free of?
The living? The miraculous
task of it?
Love is for the ones who love the work.

In an age where artificial intelligence writes, paints, and even “thinks” for us — this poem reminds us of the beauty, struggle, and sacredness of doing the work ourselves.

As we prepare for this year’s conference, “𝓓𝓸𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓟𝓱𝓲𝓵𝓸𝓼𝓸𝓹𝓱𝔂 𝔀𝓲𝓽𝓱 𝓐𝓘,” we invite everyone to reflect:
💭 What does it mean to create, to struggle, to love the work in an age of machines?

Join us this November 13 & 14, and let’s keep the dialogue alive — where the human spirit meets the digital mind. 🌿

🤖✨ This year’s theme, “𝓓𝓸𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓟𝓱𝓲𝓵𝓸𝓼𝓸𝓹𝓱𝔂 𝔀𝓲𝓽𝓱 𝓐𝓘,” invites scholars, students, and enthusiasts to explore the dynamic intersection between philosophical inquiry and artificial intelligence.

In an age where technology shapes our choices, values, and even our understanding of what it means to be human, we dare to ask: Can machines think ethically? Can algorithms reflect wisdom? And how does the human spirit persist amid digital reason?

Join us this November 13 & 14 for the 2nd Annual Philosophical Conference of the Philosophy Society of Bukidnon Inc., as we continue to build a space where wonder meets reason — and where philosophy meets the future. 🌿
