The NBDB team's final stop in its series of site visits was Book Nook Los Baños in Laguna, one of the first reading spaces established under the Book Nook Project.

Area Coordinator Ricamela Palis welcomed the team and shared how the Book Nook Los Baños brings Filipino-authored books beyond its reading space and into communities across CALABARZON. Together with custodian Myla Perez, the team held storytelling sessions in collaboration with ARTIST, Inc. (Arts Research and Training Institute in Southern Tagalog) and Move to Change Foundation, Inc. These sessions were accompanied by the staging of “Shift Happens,” a touring theater production spearheaded by ARTIST, Inc.

We also discussed opportunities to expand the Book Nook Project's reach, particularly in communities with limited or no access to Filipino-authored and locally published books.

We thank our fellow reading advocates at Book Nook Los Baños and all our Book Nook sites across CALABARZON and MIMAROPA for advancing our shared goal of fostering a reading culture, one Book Nook at a time.
