Binnadang: A Community Effort for Road Opening in Bedbed

A while ago, during the State of the Municipality Address of the Municipality of Mankayan, one of the accomplishments presented by the LGU during the first year of the administration was the BINNADANG, the collective effort of the people of Mankayan in opening the Colalo Road and the KM 3 Road in Tabio, which were affected and blocked by typhoons.

This spirit of binnadang continues to be felt today through the ongoing opening of the Lepaak-Todey Road in Barangay Bedbed, which was washed out due to the heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon.

We, the Bedbed community, are deeply grateful for this strong spirit of binnadang that exists in our municipality, under the leadership of our Municipal Mayor, Hon. Mayor Cesar R. Pasiwen. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all our municipal officials, barangay officials headed by Hon. Dalion N. Baygan - who also volunteered his backhoe to be used, din amin ay man-ilin di Bedbed, and to everyone who has extended their helping hands in the effort to reopen our washed-out road.

Ya pati pay din umali pay tumulong, ya man-idawat paylang si tulong, every helping hand, whether through manpower, resources, or any form of assistance, is deeply appreciated by the Bedbed community.

Today marks the third day of binnadang at the site, and this collective effort is a beautiful reminder that when the people of Mankayan come together, no challenge is too difficult to overcome.

Thank you for the spirit of BINNADANG, Mankayan!

Four 3-Term Barangay Officials of Bedbed Honored for Meritorious Service

Four dedicated barangay officials of Barangay Bedbed, Municipality of Mankayan, Benguet, who have completed three consecutive terms of service, are being recognized for their years of committed public service and leadership in the community.

Among those recognized is Hon. Dalion Baygan, Punong Barangay of Barangay Bedbed and the SB Members Hon. Abelardo Dimas, Hon. Pangsil A. Sebio and Hon. Saturnino Sumayao who were conferred a Meritorious Service Award in recognition of their dedicated service as a last-term barangay official. The award recognizes their leadership marked by integrity, purpose, and genuine love for the community, embodying the spirit of “Serbisyong May Puso.”

The certificate, dated July 15, 2026, bears the signatures of Jessica G. Dy, LNB National President, and Juanito Victor C. Remulla, DILG Secretary, signifying the recognition given to barangay leaders who have devoted significant years of their lives to public service.

As three-term barangay officials, the four leaders of Barangay Bedbed have served the community through different challenges and accomplishments, contributing their time, experience, and leadership to the continuous development of the barangay. Their years of service represent not only the fulfillment of a public responsibility but also a commitment to the welfare and progress of their constituents.

Their recognition is a testament to the value of dedicated local leadership. Beyond the titles and positions they held, their three terms of service reflect countless hours spent responding to community concerns, supporting barangay programs, assisting residents, and working together with fellow officials and community members.

The awarding was held at Socio Civic Center, Tabio, Mankagan, Benguet this day.
