The Rotary Club of Manila Bay's regular Thursday Membership Meeting held on June 4, 2026, at the Astoria Plaza in Ortigas, Pasig City, featured a timely economic briefing by political economist Mr. Calixto "Toti" Chikiamco. Invited by Past President Jeffrey Ng, the current president of the Foundation for Economic Freedom (FEF) addressed the club with a sobering yet deeply encouraging presentation titled "The Philippine Economy Today."

In his speech, Mr. Chikiamco presented a dual outlook for the country, balancing short-term macroeconomic gloom with long-term hope for economic recovery.

Last May 14 at our 14th GMM, we had the pleasure of having
STT GDC PHILIPPINES' In Country Head of Operations Chrissie Legaspi as our guest speaker. In celebration of Mother’s Day, she spoke about how balancing multiple roles as a woman is not a perfect scale. As she explained, “Every season asks something different from us. The question became less about whether everything was equal, and more about whether everything was aligned.”

Several members also took the floor and shared fond (and funny) memories of PP Ador Abrogena, as we commemorate the first anniversary of his passing. Special thanks to his children Adrian, Aldrich and Aaron for this opportunity to remember and celebrate PP Ador!

Last April 30, at the invitation of PP Pankoy Santaromana, RC Manila Bay had the honor of having Leyte Gov. Jericho “Icot” Petilla and his beautiful wife, former Palo, Leyte Mayor Ann Petilla at our 13th GMM at Qui Restaurant. As a former Secretary of Energy, the conversation revolved mostly around of the cause and effect of the rising fuel rates and several fearless forecasts on what comes next.
