Registration Open & Call for Abstracts!

The 31st Federation of Asian Pharmaceutical Associations Congress (FAPA 2026) taking place from 3-7 November 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand is now accepting registrations. Register now to take advantage of the Early Bird Registration Fee which is USD 50 less than the full fee!

Group Registrations (minimum of 10 persons per application) will be eligible to a 10% discount fee.

FAPA 2026 is themed, “Pharmacists in Action Across Asia: Ensuring Safe Health Care Through Innovation and Collaboration” and features Prof. Ian Coombes (tentative) from University of Queensland, Australia as one of the Plenary Speakers. Prof. Coombes is an international leader in pharmacy education and clinical practice.

This is also a Call for Abstracts. Abstract submissions are from now until 30 June 2026. We are accepting abstracts for the following disciplines:

PHILHEALTH AND ASIAN PHARMACY, PARTNERS FOR HEALTH

PhilHealth President and CEO Dr. Edwin M. Mercado attended and delivered a speech at the Asian Pharmacy Summit held at Seda Hotel, Quezon City on October 25, 2025. He emphasized the important role of pharmacists in advancing Universal Health Care (UHC) and how they can help PhilHealth fulfill its mission.

In his speech, Dr. Mercado highlighted the opportunities for pharmacies and pharmacists to contribute to strengthening health services and ensuring access to medicines and pharmaceutical care for Filipinos, especially with the launch of the PhilHealth YAKAP Program. He encouraged pharmacists to collaborate with PhilHealth to improve the quality of health services and address the needs of members.

𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 (𝐔𝐇𝐂)

The Asian Pharmacy Summit on Universal Health Care (UHC), organized by the Federation of Asian Pharmaceutical Associations (FAPA) and hosted by the Philippine Pharmacists Association (PPhA), will be held on October 25, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the SEDA Vertis North Hotel, Quezon City, Philippines. This landmark event will gather Asian pharmacy leaders, experts, and UHC advocates to discuss strategies for integrating and engaging pharmacists in advancing Universal Health Care. The summit will highlight the vital role of pharmacists in UHC through insights from government, health insurance, and professional leaders, and will showcase keynote presentations highlighting the evolving role of pharmacists in health systems, including experiences from Taiwan and the Philippines.

It will also introduce FAPA’s UHC initiatives, including the Pharmacy UHC Services Menu, Health System Development Strategies, and the UHC Tool Kit, while engaging participants in workshops and breakout sessions to refine recommendations for pharmacist participation in UHC. By fostering collaboration among pharmacy leaders, government agencies, academic institutions, health professionals, and international organizations, the summit aims to strengthen the collective impact of pharmacists in achieving equitable and sustainable health for all.

On 28 March 2025 at 12:50:52 MMT (06:20:52 UTC), a Magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck the Sagaing Region of Myanmar, with an epicenter close to Mandalay, the country's second-largest city, with a population of over 1.2 million people. As of writing, over 3,000 people have been reported dead, and over 7,000 have been injured, with hundreds still reported missing. Some reports mentioned as much as 1 out of 3 homes damaged and 1 of 5 buildings destroyed by the earthquake in the worst hit areas. The situation is complicated by the ongoing civil war in the country.

Immediately after the earthquake, FAPA Headquarters and FAPA Foundation convened an emergency coordination meeting with the Myanmar Young Pharmacists Group (MYPG) and key local leaders to discuss urgent needs in Mandalay.

On April 8, 2025, FAPA President Dr. Yolanda Robles sent out a letter regarding the update for the planned Myanmar Earthquake Relief.
