It is with profound sadness that the College of Business Administration Student Council extends its deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones of Prof. Marlyn Buendia.
Today, we mourn not only the passing of a professor but the loss of a remarkable educator, a compassionate mentor, and a beautiful soul whose kindness reached far beyond the classroom. While many students may never have had the opportunity to express how truly grateful they were, there is no doubt that everyone who had the privilege of being one of her students carries a memory of her that time will never erase.
You were never the kind of professor who simply came to teach and leave. You made your students feel seen, heard, and valued, treating them not just as names on a class list but as individuals worthy of patience, encouragement, and unwavering belief. Your kindness made even the most challenging days a little lighter, your understanding gave students the confidence to keep going, and your dedication reminded us that genuine educators leave an impact that extends far beyond grades and classrooms.
Looking back now, it is often the simplest moments that become the hardest to let go of. The simple โILYโ on your classesโ password quizzes, your reassuring presence in the classroom, and the little gestures that once felt so ordinary have now become memories we will treasure for the rest of our lives because we never imagined that there would come a day when those moments would become all we have left to hold onto.
Thank you, Prof. Marlyn, for every lesson you patiently shared, for every student you encouraged, for every life you quietly touched, and for every heart you inspired without ever asking for recognition. Your kindness will continue to live on in the people you believed in, your passion will continue to inspire those who follow in your footsteps, and your memory will forever remain a part of the College of Business Administration.
You will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved.
