Today, the LPU Manila Honor Guards stand in solidarity with our Muslim brothers and sisters in the Lycean community and across the globe as we observe Eid al-Adha (The Feast of Sacrifice).

At its core, this sacred day commemorates the profound obedience of Prophet Ibrahim and reminds us of a truth that transcends faith: that the highest form of service requires the willingness to give up what is comfortable for what is right. As the Pioneer Batch, we reflect on how our own calling to Pro Deo Et Patria is anchored on this very principle of selflessness and duty.

May this celebration bring peace to our homes, strength to our community, and a deeper respect for the diverse spiritual traditions that enrich our nation.

Before the day ends, the LPU Manila Honor Guards family stands in proud salute to celebrate the birth of our esteemed Dean of Student Affairs, Dean Gladys O. Ramos.

In the pursuit of academic and leadership excellence, every great student-led unit relies on the wisdom, steadiness, and administrative guidance of its supervising leaders. Dean Ramos has consistently served as a vital cornerstone for the Lycean student body, exemplifying how genuine leadership seamlessly bridges policy with empathy and structure with compassion.

As the Pioneer Batch, we extend our deepest gratitude to her office for the unwavering trust, the rigorous standards, and the endless support she provides to our organization. As the Pioneer Batch, we entered this year with ambitious visions, but it is through his quiet wisdom, constant reassurance, and strategic oversight that we have been able to navigate our challenges and elevate our standards. He is the anchor that keeps us grounded and the compass that points us toward true service.

In the LPU Manila Honor Guards, we often speak of the weight of duty. But today, we reflect on a different kind of weight—the beautiful, selfless burden of motherhood.

A mother’s love is the ultimate "Standard." It is a watch that never ends and a devotion that never wavers, even in the deepest of nights. To the mothers of our Pioneer Batch, thank you for trusting us to become guardians of the University, knowing that it was your guidance that prepared us for this path. We carry your names in our hearts as we carry our colors in the field.

This Labor Day, the LPU Manila Honor Guards salute the millions of Filipino workers whose perseverance serves as the foundation of our country. From the urban centers to our maritime frontiers, the dedication of the Filipino labor force is the primary driver of our national progress.

As the Pioneer Batch, we recognize that "Labor" is not merely a task, but a form of service to the community. In the LHG, we discipline ourselves to work with precision and integrity, mirroring the tireless spirit of the everyday worker who strives for a better future for their family and the Republic.

We stand in solidarity with those who advocate for fair treatment, safety, and the dignity of all professionals. Today, we rest to reflect on our contributions and we rise tomorrow with a renewed commitment to our duties.

To the workers of the world, and especially to the hardworking staff and faculty of LPU Manila: Happy Labor Day.

In view of the forecasted high heat index, all face-to-face classes will shift to synchronous online modality from May 11-16, 2026 except for the following courses/classes which will continue face-to-face:

• CAS: BCJMMA Laboratory and Science Laboratory classes
• CBA: Customs Administration (3rd and 4th year professional courses)
• CBA: Accountancy (4th year review courses)
• CITHM: Kitchen Lab; Food & Beverage and Bar Management classes
• COT: to be announced by the college to students thru the college student government

Face-to-face instruction will resume as scheduled beginning May 25, 2026, and the Final Examination period will remain in-person.

Offices will stay open and work operations will continue per schedule.

Today, the LPU Manila Honor Guards join the nation in solemn remembrance of the 84th Anniversary of the Fall of Bataan. We honor the 76,000 Filipino and American soldiers who endured the harrowing Bataan Death March—a journey defined not by defeat, but by an unbreakable will to survive for the sake of our freedom.

As the Pioneer Batch, we recognize that our uniform is more than a symbol of authority. It is a commitment to the same values of "Kagitingan" (Valor) that our forefathers displayed in the foxholes of Bataan and the peaks of Samat. We do not just commemorate history; we carry its weight.

Our duty is to ensure that the silence of the fallen is met with the resolute action of the living. We stand guard over the values they died for: integrity, sacrifice, and an undying love for the Motherland.

The sun has broken through, and so has our Hope! ☀

Today, the LPU Manila Honor Guards celebrate the victory of life over the grave. As the Pioneer Batch, we feel this resurrection in every fiber of our being. Every hour spent in vigil, every trial faced in the shadows, finds its glorious meaning in this morning’s light.

We return to our halls not just as cadets of a tradition, but as messengers of a New Beginning.

The world holds its breath. In the tomb's deep silence, there is a different kind of duty: the duty of waiting.

For the LPU Manila Honor Guards, today is about the "unseen" parts of our journey. It’s about the prayers whispered in the hollows of the night and the faith that refuses to flicker even when the light seems gone. We stand in the "in-between," trusting that the story isn't over.

Let the stillness heal us. The night is long, but we do not watch in vain.

The campus falls still. The air grows heavy. Today, we stand at the foot of the Cross, witnessing a love so profound it gave until there was nothing left to give.

As cadets, we are taught to stand firm, but today, we allow our spirits to bend. We reflect on the crosses we carry in secret and the sacrifices that define us. There are no commands today; only the realization that we are held by a love that endured the unthinkable.

In the shadow of the wood, we find the courage to give our all for the sake of others.

Before the world changed, He knelt. He didn't ask for a crown; He asked for a towel.

For the LPU Manila Honor Guards, tonight is not about the prestige of the post, but the humility of the heart. As the Pioneer Batch, we stand guard at the Altar of Repose not to be seen, but to see—to witness the ultimate act of a Master becoming a servant. We learn tonight that our greatest strength is found in our willingness to bow.

Let our watch be a silent prayer: May we serve as He served.
