SeaFam International

SeaFam International Seafaring Family International (SeaFam) is a non-profit, non-government organization.

We provide counseling, training, and support to help maritime families thrive—both at sea and at home.

This Christmas Thanksgiving, we looked back not just on a year gone by—but on a journey we walked together. 🤍

We welcomed new blessings, forged new partnerships, and embraced new opportunities that strengthened our mission and widened our reach as one SeaFam community. Every milestone was sweeter because it was shared; every success carried the fingerprints of love, service, and bayanihan.

And when loss came—when one of our own was called home—we grieved as one family. In our tears, we found comfort. In our sorrow, we found unity. We were reminded that SeaFam is more than an organization; it is a home where no one walks alone, in joy or in pain.

This season, we give thanks not just for what we gained, but for who we have become together. For the hands that serve, the hearts that care, and the bonds that hold us through both light and darkness.

Thank you for being SeaFam.
Thank you for being family. 🩷✨

Nothing matters more than the safety of our families. ⛑️

Last November 29, Seafaring Family International (SeaFam) hosted a special “First Aid at Home” workshop facilitated by Matthew Smith, Lifeline Incident Commander, together with Siegfred Dejasco, Lifeline EMT Instructor.

From choking, burns, and sudden illness to emergency response—our participants learned practical, life-saving skills that every household should know.

This initiative is part of SeaFam’s continuing commitment to our mantra:

Safety at sea, safety at home. ⚓🏡

The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, observed every 25 November, served as a global reminder of the urgent need to end all forms of gender-based violence. The day highlighted the responsibility of institutions and communities to protect women and promote environments where they felt safe, respected, and empowered.

In the maritime industry, the observance carried significant relevance. Women working at sea and in maritime workplaces continued to face unique vulnerabilities due to the male-dominated environment, isolation onboard ships, and limited reporting mechanisms.

MARINA assures the public that it remained committed to upholding the rights and welfare of women in the maritime sector. The Agency continuously worked on strengthening policies, improving regulatory mechanisms, and enhancing its coordination with stakeholders to ensure that women seafarers were protected from any form of violence, harassment, or discrimination throughout their maritime careers.
