The International Womenโs Month just started and there are multiple sexist and misogynistic remarks coming from political personalities. Recently, Rep. B**g Suntay have had inappropriate analogies referencing actress, Anne Curtis-Smith during a Justice Hearing on the Impeachment complaints against Vice President last March 3, 2026.
These remarks are viewed as a โjokeโ by most of the people, and even though it is clearly wrong and unjust, few people still took Suntayโs side and even justified his wrong sentiments. This shows how some leaders are not supposed to be where they are as they promote inequality and unprogressive way of thinking.
The TUP Dugong Bughaw stands with all the women who deserves to be treated equally as everyone else does, with respect, dignity, and empowering. Just like what Anne Curtis said, โWe are not props in your commentaryโ, women are women and they are not to be treated any lesser than how politicians like Suntay thinks women are supposed to be. We also stand against sexism, misogyny and objectification as it merely has no place in this society, or everywhere rather. This just shows how low the political standards this country has in choosing their leaders.
