On April 27, the AmCham Philippines Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Education Committees brought together students, legal experts, and industry leaders for “Joining the Fight Against Counterfeiting” at the Far Eastern University Main Auditorium.

As e-commerce grows, so do the risks of intellectual property theft. The strong engagement from students, our leaders, highlighted that counterfeiting goes beyond business losses, posing real threats to consumer safety and economic integrity.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our host, Far Eastern University, and to our distinguished speakers from Quisumbing Torres— Atty. Divina Ilas-Panganiban, Atty. Bienvenido Marquez III, Atty. Felicisimo Agas III, and Atty. Berenice Dela Cruz—for sharing their expertise. We also thank Atty. Princess Ascalon of IBM for her insightful moderation. We are equally grateful to our partners, FEU IABF Student Council and Nicanor Reyes Memorial Foundation, for their invaluable support in making this initiative possible.

In 𝗧𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘇𝘂𝗲𝗹𝗮, resilience begins with care, empathy, and safe spaces. 🏠💚

Through gamified disaster preparedness training, guided art activities, Psychological First Aid (PFA), and family-centered learning sessions, Project Tahan-an is helping communities heal while preparing for climate and disaster risks.

By integrating mental health and climate resilience, young people are proving that preparedness is not only about survival—but also about emotional safety, collective healing, and hope.

Project Tahan-an is part of the 22 youth-led climate innovations rising at the Green Rising Impact Expo 2026.

Every sacrifice, every long hour stuck during rush hours, every quiet act of perseverance carries the weight of dignity and the hope for something better.

Today, we celebrate Labor Day. A reminder that behind every job is a life that deserves respect, protection, and just opportunities.

And as we move forward, may we not only remember and celebrate, but act. Act in ways that ensure no worker is silenced, overlooked, or left behind.

𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 | 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗞𝗼, 𝗧𝗶𝘁𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗞𝗼 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻

From sounding out their first words to reading with growing confidence, our Grade 2 learners at Juan Luna Elementary School have come a long way.

After weeks of shared stories, patient guidance, and consistent reading sessions under the Bayan Ko, Titser Ko (BKTK) program, we gathered once more—this time, to listen not just to their voices, but to their progress. The post-assessment gave us a glimpse of how far they’ve journeyed: improved reading fluency, better comprehension, and a newfound confidence in engaging with texts. This is what collective effort looks like.

Through the partnership of Angat Buhay, FEU Alumni Association, and our passionate volunteers, each session became a step toward making learning more inclusive, empowering, and hopeful.

Because when a child learns to read, they begin to write their own story.

𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩, 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙁𝙀𝙐 𝙄𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙖 𝙘𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙚! 💚💛

The culminating activity featured messages from Ms. Lady Diane Madrid and Mr. Arcturus Mancera, highlighting the value of learning beyond the classroom through real-life experiences.

Students then shared their "𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔" and insights, showcasing not only the knowledge they gained but also the empathy and sense of responsibility they developed through community engagement. Lastly, the program concluded with the distribution of completion certificates.

The Nicanor Reyes Memorial Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to FEU High School , FEU IABF - Accountancy, and the FEU ABM Senior High School students for making this immersion program meaningful and impactful.

We look forward to more opportunities that empower the youth to become agents of change— youth individuals who are not only academically equipped but also socially responsive and community-driven.

𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦 | 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 101

In partnership with FEU IABF - Accountancy Department, the FEU Accountancy and Business Management (ABM) Senior High School students took part in an enriching learning experience through our Bookkeeping 101 session, last April 8, 2026.

We were honored to have Mr. Vercie Dumlao as our resource speaker, who guided the students in revisiting and strengthening their understanding of the basic accounting cycle and fundamental bookkeeping processes. Through his engaging discussion, students were able to better appreciate the importance of accuracy, organization, and critical thinking in accounting.

To further maximize the learning experience, the session was followed by a hands-on workshop. Bridging the theory practices with real-life application, the senior high school students were given unrecorded transactions presented by Mr. Vercie and were challenged to apply what they learned by properly journaling and recording each entry.

𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 | 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗧𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗻-𝗮𝗻: 𝗦𝗺𝗼𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻, 𝗧𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼, 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗮 (𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻)

Noong ika-21 ng Marso, matagumpay na isinagawa ang ikatlo at huling session ng Project Tahan-an sa Smokey Mountain, Tondo, Manila, kasama ang mga nanay mula sa komunidad sa isang makabuluhan at nagbibigay-lakas na araw.

Bilang isang community-based DRR at psychosocial intervention program, patuloy na pinatitibay ng Project Tahan-an ang papel ng pamilya sa panahon ng krisis, lalo na ang mahalagang gampanin ng mga ina bilang pangunahing sandigan ng tahanan. Sa huling sesyong ito, nabigyan ang mga nanay ng kaalaman at praktikal na kasanayan kung paano paghahandaan at tutugunan ang mga sakuna, gayundin kung paano aalalayan ang emosyonal na kalagayan ng kanilang mga anak sa gitna ng takot, pangamba, at kawalang-katiyakan.

Sa pamamagitan ng mga gamified at replektibong gawain, nabigyan sila ng ligtas at mapagkalingang espasyo upang ibahagi ang kanilang mga karanasan at mas maunawaan ang pinagmumulan ng kanilang stress, lalo na tuwing may paparating na sakuna. Higit pa sa pagkatuto, naging pagkakataon din ito upang makabuo ng ugnayan at pagkakaisa sa pagitan ng mga kalahok—isang komunidad ng mga inang handang sumuporta sa isa’t isa.

Sa pagtatapos ng huling sesyon na ito sa Better World Smokey Mountain, muling pinatunayan na ang isang matatag at handang komunidad ay nagsisimula sa loob ng tahanan—sa mga inang may kaalaman, kahandaan, at kakayahang magbigay ng pag-aaruga at lakas sa kanilang pamilya. 💚

Noong ika-1 ng Marso, matagumpay na isinagawa ang ikalawang session ng Project Tahan-an sa Valenzuela City kasama ang ating mga nanay at kabataang Valenzuelano.

Sa sesyong ito, binigyang-diin ang mahalagang papel ng mga magulang—lalo na ng mga ina—bilang unang tagapangalaga at sandigan ng pamilya sa panahon ng sakuna. Sa pamamagitan ng mga interaktibong talakayan at gawain, nabigyan ang mga nanay ng kaalaman at praktikal na kasanayan kung paano paghahandaan ang mga kalamidad, magbigay ng agarang tugon, at higit sa lahat, kung paano alalayan ang emosyonal na kalagayan ng kanilang mga anak sa gitna ng krisis.

Kasabay nito, nabigyan din ng ligtas na espasyo ang parehong mga magulang at kabataan upang magbahagi ng kanilang mga karanasan at tuklasin ang pinanggagalingan ng stress tuwing may paparating na sakuna. Sa huling bahagi ng session, sa pamamagitan ng pagpipinta at pagdo-drawing, malaya nilang naipahayag ang kanilang pangarap na tahanan—isang tahanang ligtas, matatag, at puno ng pag-asa—at naibahagi ito sa isa’t isa.

Patunay ang araw na ito na ang isang matatag na komunidad ay nagsisimula sa isang pamilyang handa, may kaalaman, at may kakayahang magbigay ng suporta—pisikal man o emosyonal—sa bawat isa. 💚

HIGHLIGHTS | Project Alkan-Saya

Last March, FEU IABF - Accountancy High School students brought financial literacy to life at Juan Luna Elementary School through interactive storytelling sessions focused on the value of saving.

Young learners then received their own piggy banks, which they creatively designed using colorful stickers. To conclude, an Ipon Ceremony was held, where each child dropped their first coin, marking the beginning of their saving journey.

HIGHLIGHTS | PSEAH Facilitation & Storytelling Training

Last February, the FEU IABF - Accountancy High School students participated in a session on Child Safeguarding and PSEAH (Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Sexual Harassment) Policy, emphasizing the importance of protecting children’s rights and dignity and promoting a safe and supportive environment.

They also took part in a storytelling training to prepare for the upcoming outreach at Juan Luna Elementary School, where they will engage and inspire young learners on the joy of saving through storytelling, provision of coin banks, and coin insertion ceremony.

Today, we honor Day of Valor, a reminder that Filipino bravery endures even in the face of overwhelming odds. During World War II, hundreds of thousands of Filipinos, alongside American soldiers, stepped forward to defend our freedom and fought against Japanese military forces.

Many faced the unknown without weapons, training, or certainty of survival. Yet what carried them through was something greater: a courage that refused to back down, and a genuine, profound love for the country.

May we continue to carry their legacy—not only in remembrance, but in how we genuinely serve our people, lead with integrity, and stand for what is right today.
