NEVER AGAIN, NEVER FORGET!

Mahigit isang taon na mula noong pumutok ang mga isyu ng korapsyon sa loob ng estado, at lantarang binubulsa pa rin ang budget sa flood control projects. Hanggang ngayo, wala paring nananagot mula sa tuktok at pawang pinapaikot lang ang masa sa kanilang mga teleserye. Hindi pa ba tayo pagod sa ganitong sistema? Libo-libong mamamayan ang naghihirap, namamatay, nawawalan ng bahay sa ka-ganidan ng rehimeng US-Marcos Jr.

Kaliwa't-kanan din ang pamamasista at pagpapalayas sa mga mamamayang katutubo para sa tinatanaw na itayong proyekto na Pax Silica. Binebenta ni Marcos Jr. ang bansa sa Estados Unidos para pagkakitaan, pagminahan, abusuhin at lokohin ang bansa at masa na ani nga’y mag bibigay sa atin ng oportunidad magtrabaho para sa pakinabang ng mga imperyalista.

Sa loob din ng isang taon na ito, patuloy pa rin ang pagpondo at pagtulak ng gobyerno sa mga programang mapanupil na tinatarget ang mga progresibong estudyante at organisasyon. Pilit ding pinapapasok ang mga pulis at militar sa mga eskwelahan, kasama ang kanilang mga armas upang magpalaganap ng samu't-saring black propaganda at terror sa mga kritikal na boses.

Hindi na din ito nalalayo sa kaso ni Charlize “Ceeka” Garzon na tumungo sa kanayunan upang makipamuhay at malaman ang kalagayan ng mga katutubong Mangyan-Buhid sa Mindoro. Kitang-kita na mas pabor ang estado na itago ang kalagayan ng mga masa sa kanayunan at pigilan ang mga kabataan kagaya ni Ceeka na hanggang ngayon ay ginigipit pa rin ng estado sa loob ng kulungan sa pamamagitan ng mga gawa-gawang kaso. Nais lamang ni Ceeka na ibulgar ang kasahulan na kinakaharap ng masa sa kanayunan sa pamamagitan ng sining, subalit sinubukan ng estado na busalan siya.

Hinding-hindi rin namin makakalimot ang pagpaslang kay Eric Saber at marahas na pag-aresto sa higit 270 na kabataan. Hindi inako at pawang naghuhugas kamay ang PNP at DILG sa responsibilidad nila sa pagpatay kay Eric Saber at hanggang ngayon ay wala pa ding nakakamit na hustisya ang pamilya niya. Tunay lang na mas mahalaga para sa estado ang panunupil kesa lutasin ang mga problemang kinakaharap ng mga masang naghihirap.

URGENT ALERT: FIVE PARALEGALS ARRESTED WHILE ASSISTING PROTESTERS AT HYATT BGC RALLY

Panday Sining Malate vehemently condemns the arrest and detention of FIVE paralegals who were providing support to protesters during a rally opposing the Luzon Economic Corridor Investors Forum outside the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Bonifacio Global City (BGC).

In the unfolding of events, three paralegals were initially detained and brought to the Taguig City Police Station while carrying out their duties of providing paralegal assistance to demonstrators. Among those detained were Jona Yang, former Secretary General of AGHAM Advocates of Science and Technology for the People, and Kenneth Castor of the UP Office of the Student Regent.

Two more paralegals, Daya Juliano of Karapatan and RC Placido of Tanggol Magsasaka, were subsequently arrested at Taguig City Hall while assisting those who had already been detained.

Within mere hours, these five paralegals were placed in state custody simply for extending paralegal assistance to protesters. This alarming escalation is a blatant act of intimidation against human rights defenders and a dangerous attack on the ability of communities and protesters to access legal and paralegal support while exercising their rights.

The arrests are particularly troubling in the context of the forum's promotion of the Luzon Economic Corridor and its Pax Silica hub, a US-backed semiconductor and artificial intelligence initiative in Central Luzon. The project has raised serious concerns over the displacement of up to 20,000 Ayta residents and farmers from their ancestral lands, as well as mounting pressure on the region's water and energy resources.

The criminalization and harassment of those who stand with affected communities cannot be allowed to become the norm. Paralegals are not criminals for assisting protesters. Human rights defenders are not threats for documenting abuses and providing support. Exercising the right to protest is not a crime.

Panday Sining Malate strongly condemns this escalating persecution and the shrinking democratic space for opposition to foreign-dominated infrastructure and development projects such as Pax Silica and the Luzon Economic Corridor.

We demand the immediate and unconditional release of all five detained paralegals, an end to the intimidation and harassment of human rights defenders, and respect for the fundamental rights to peaceful assembly, protest, and access to legal assistance.

Ayon sa NDRRMC, higit sa 7.4 milyon na masa ang apektado ng ng mga habagat, bagyo, pagbaha, at mga landslides sa mga nakaraang linggo. Ang mga natural na kalamidad na ito at nagresulta sa pagdeklara ng 89 na syudad at munisipyo na "state of calamity". Halos nasa 29 ang nireportang namatay, kung nasaan lima ang nakompirma, at 17 ang injured. Bukod pa dito ay nasa higit 100k na mga masa ang nawalan ng tirahan at ng kabuhayan. (GMA News, 2026)

Sa kabila lahat ng datos na ito, ang kalamidad na kasulukuyang kinakaharap ng mga masa at hindi lang "natural" dahil lahat ng ito ay sanhi ng kapabayaan ng gobyerno at sa pagiinteres sa sarili at sa mga malalaking korporasyon. Simula nung lumabas ang korapsyon sa flood control projects ay patuloy lamang nila dinedelay ang proseso at walang tunay na solusyon. Imbis na mapunta sa safety measures ang mga pondo, ay napupunta eto sa mga bulsa nila.

Ang kapabayaan ng gobyerno at kasakiman ng mga korporasyon ang siyang tunay na perwisyo at panganib sa kaligtasan ng mga masa. Hindi natin makontrola ang mga natural na kalamidad na pumapasok sa ating bansa ngunit buong responsibilidad ng gobyerno ang i-prioritize ang kaligtasan ng masa.

RELEASE THE REST OF SONA 51!!!

Almost 51 youth activists from Ju**ie Rebels Crew (JRC), Vandals United (VU), Anakbayan Pasong Tamo, at Hiphop United Against Corruption—were illegally arrested on the 27th of July, at the 5th State of the Nation Adress (SONA) of Marcos Jr.

It is evident that the arrests were unlawful as 42 out of 51 youth activists were released after one day of being illegally held with no filed case because they could not find sufficient and solid evidence(s) that they are the ones who vandalized the Commonwealth. From the number of releases alone—the basis of the Philippine National Police(PNP) for illegally arresting the youths were those who were wearing black shirts/outfits—which is inherently discriminatory. Is this the police competency the nation is ever so proud of? This is not police competence but a fascist tool for oppression and repression.

It was also reported by KARAPATAN that the 9 remaining under the custody of authorities had been under interrogation under closed room without the presence of their lawyers. There were also 3 men who refused to give their identification just saying that they were representatives from National Union of People’s Lawyers(NUPL) and the Commission on Human Rights(CHR).

“To serve and protect — the ruling class” for these unlawful and discriminatory act by the PNP—supposedly the reliable ones—shows that it was never their intention to serve and protect the masses, but be a tool used by the fascist regime of Marcos Jr.

We call for the immediate release on the rest of SONA 51 who still has no case filed and are still being illegally held imprisoned and experiencing psychological torture, harassment, and intimidation which is clearly a violation of human rights!

PALAYAIN ANG SONA NG BAYAN DETAINEES

Mariing kinokondena ng Panday Sining Malate ang ilegal at marahas na pag aresto ng Philippine National Police(PNP) sa humigit kumulang 51 na aktibista mula sa Ju**ie Rebels Crew (JRC), Vandals United(VU), Anak Bayan Pasongtamo, at Hiphop United Against Corruption dahil ito ay isang paglabag sa karapatang pantao mag protesta. Hindi rin sumasagot ang mga pulis kung ano ang kaso ng mga inaresto.

Ang SONA ay hindi dapat nanggagaling lamang sa namumunong wala namang pake sa kalagayan ng lipunan na kinakalagyan ng masang api. Mabuting nailalahad ng masa at ng kabataan ang kanilang hinanakit at kalagayan marahil ito lamang ang mag bibigay ideya sa mga oligarko at mga buwayang namumuno dahil ayaw naman nilang bumaba at alamin ang kalagayan ng masa na pinamumunuan nila dahil nagpapakalunod lamang sila sa yamang inaangkin nila.

Lantad na pinapatahimik at sinusupil ni Marcos Jr. ang mga masa na hangarin lamang ay bumoses sa kalagayan nila sa sistemang binuo ng rehimeng Marcos Jr. Ikangang parang inulit nanaman ang mga pamamasistang gawain, intimidasyon, pang haharas, at ilegal na pagaresto ng estado kagaya noong makasaysayang “Baha sa Luneta” mob na tumungo sa Mendiola.

Kita naman na nasa gitna tayo ng krisis pang ekonomiya pero ang pinag tutuunan ng pansin ng estado ay ang pagpapalaganap ng state terror at pagiging magkaribal ng kampong Marcos at Duterte. Nag papatunay lang na ang niluklok ng bayan sa pagkapresidente at ang legasiya nito ay PAGIGING HARI NG KORAPSYON AT PASISMO.

MARCOS, SHUT THE PAX UP! HULING SONA MO NA ‘YAN!

Hindi lahat ng talumpati ay sumasalamin sa tunay na kalagayan ng mamamayan. Habang idinadaos ang SONA, sama-sama nating iparinig ang tinig ng mga Pilipinong humihingi ng pananagutan, tunay na serbisyo, at makatarungang pamamahala.

Patuloy na tinatago ng rehimeng Marcos Jr. na binenta na nila ang ating bansa para mapaglagyan ng AI Data Hub Center sa ilalim ng Pax Silica. Nagpapatunay lang na ang presidente ng bansa ay isang batukan at tuta lamang ng mga imperyalistang ‘Kano. Walang mapapala ang mamamayang Filipino sa kasunduang ito marahil bababuyin lang neto ang ating likas na yaman at maisasantabi nanaman ang mga pangangailangan ng mga kababayan nating magsasaka.

Napakarami ng pangako ang binitawan ni Marcos Jr. ngunit lagi lang pinapalusot lahat ng issue at scadalo sa ilalim ng kanyang pamumuno. Mula sa ghost flood control projects, mga kinurakot na pondo, sa huwad na putukan sa Senado, sa pamamasista, pagpapalayas mula sa lupain, at pagkait ng hustisya sa mga pinapatay ng kanyang estado. Sa ikaapat na taon nya, para sa masa nga ba talaga si Bongbong? ❌

BUHAY ANG DIWA NG STONEWALL 1994! 🏳️‍🌈

Tunay na protesta ang pride dahil hanggang ngayon, nananatiling kulang ang karapatan ng komyunidad ng LGBTQIA+ at pilit pading kinekwestyon ng lipunang hinubog ng imperyalismo, pyudalismo, at burukrata kapitalismo ang ating mga pagkakakilanlan o identity.

Baliktanaw muna tayo, ano ba ang “Stonewall Uprising”? Nag-mula ito sa pagsugod o raid ng mga otoridad sa Stonewall Inn, isang Gay-bar sa New York City, na kung saan nagtipon ang mga progresibong miyembro ng LGBTQIA+ community upang labanan ang patuloy na pangaapi, harrassment, at diskriminasyon sa kanila.

1994, sa Quezon City, matagumpay na nailunsad ng mga Filipinong parte ng komyunidad ng LGBTQIA+ ang pag gunita sa Stonewall uprising at ito ang naging pinaka unang Pride March sa Asia. Slay eh noh? Pero di lang naman doon nagtapos ang pinaglaban nila. Isa din sa pangunahing panawagan nila noon ay ang pag kwestyon at puksa sa Value Added Tax(VAT).

Mahalagang naiuugat natin ang mga problema at isyung kinakaharap ng LGBTQIA+ community, mula sa karapatang pantao, patuloy na pagtaas mg bilihin, hanggang sa pagrepresenta ng pansariling pagkakakilanlan at paniniwala.

Ating gunitain ang Pride Month at sumama rumampa sa kalsada kasama mga mamita.

And I couldn’t help but wonder…

As Filipino youth, we often grapple with questions and dilemmas surrounding romantic and s*xual relationships. How do these fit into our lives, and in what ways are they shaped by politics and social constructs? Does romantic love exist in a vacuum, or is it inseparable from questions of class and the economic structures that shape our world?

This June, as we celebrate pride month, we are reminded that the struggle for q***r liberation is inseparable from the class struggle. The road to liberation is not paved only through protesting on the streets, it also unfolds in the most intimate spaces of our lives. In “Sexual Relations and the Class Struggle”, revolutionary thinker Alexandra Kollontai invites us to reflect on how capitalism and class oppression shape the way we love, build families, and relate to one another. In a semi-colonial and semi-feudal society like the Philippines, where feudal-patriarchal values and imperialist exploitation continue to weigh heavily on women and LGBTQ+ people, these questions take on urgent meaning in our culture.

Panday Sining Malate warmly invites everyone, especially our fellow Benildeans, to join our educational discussion as we discuss and critically engage with Kollontai’s ideas together, connecting them to the realities of the Philippine national democratic movement. How can we nurture relationships rooted in equality, collective responsibility, and genuine comradeship? How do we challenge patriarchy within our own communities while strengthening the people’s struggle? Let us gather to learn from one another, deepen our political understanding, and help build a revolutionary culture that advances the fight for q***r liberation and genuine national democracy.

In our generation, loving feels harder than ever, not because people love less, but because life costs more.

Every day, prices of food, rent, transportation, and basic needs keep rising, while wages struggle to catch up. Meanwhile, large corporations continue to increase their profits, eating out if the plates of workers all whilst selling them rainbow washed merchandise, capitalizing the concept of freedom.

When survival is tied to a monetary cost, relationships becomes a burden — dates become luxuries, building a future together feels distant, and many are forced to choose between financial stability and personal happiness.
