Time may have passed, but this day will never be forgotten.

On September 21, 1972, Former President Ferdinand E. Marcos signed Proclamation No. 1081, approving placing the country under Martial Law. The proclamation intended to maintain peace and order resulted in years of oppression. Lives were lost and voices were unheard under his dictatorship; but history has forever made its
mark.

He abused his power, stole from the country, and let go of his public duty to serve the people of this country. Heโ€™s not a hero they proclaim him to beโ€”heโ€™s a criminal who ruined Philippine democracy.

Let today be a reminder of the horrors of corruption. Never again and never forget.
