Title: The Unstrange: The Truth is Out There

Event Context:
This event aims to help the youth understand that most "unstrange" things of the world (common, traditional, customary, usual, popular, familiar and trend) are lies, errors and contrary to the gospel culture and that idea brings misery or unhappiness to our lives.

The Truth is Out There.

"Out There" is a slang term which means, strange. As members of the church, we are always perceived by others to be believers of many strange but good beliefs and practices, and that what makes us peculiar, different and blessed.

Key activities:

The Unstrange Hunt (Treasure Hunt)

Prepare treasure hunt clues that are unstrange or common bad things happening in the youth nowadays. For example, Vanity (hide the next clue on the mirror or cr) Wasting Time (hide the next clue at the wall clock) Learning is Boring (hide the next clue inside the library) You can make as many as you can depending on your location.

The Unstrange Puzzle Poster (Puzzle Activity)

Prepare photos of any Unstrange Issues like Immodesty, Bullying, Idleness etc. And cut it into grids for puzzle work. The youth will then give it a title and explain the meaning of the puzzled photo. Afterward, leaders will surprisingly burn the posters as a sign of "Forsaking" these common issues and give a short lesson in a non-preachy or tedious manner.

The 2026 youth theme has been announced by the Young Women and Young Men general presidencies of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The youth theme chosen for 2026 is “Walk with Me.”

This is based on Moses 6:34, which reads, “Behold my Spirit is upon you, wherefore all thy words will I justify; and the mountains shall flee before you, and the rivers shall turn from their course; and thou shalt abide in me, and I in you; therefore walk with me.”

Why We Exist

We are husband-and-wife adult youth leaders who serve in youth organizations for many years, even back in the day as single members in our respective wards. Like for the husband, he was called as a young men president as young as 18.

One day, we decided to document all our activities and at the same time wanted to share our ideas with you. And from there, this page was created. Yey!

The main thing that motivates us is the fact that nowadays most Service and Activities in small groups (wards or branches) are getting less often and uninspired. At parang excited na lang if large group activities (stake or multi-stake/fsy). Siguro kasi we lack the resources for ideas and inspiration since ward youth activities are ideally conducted often.

May we bring back the energy and excitement of small group activities in our local units and help our young people who serve as youth leaders in classes and quorums. Mentor them and show your confidence by letting them lead. For the youth, please take action and do your responsibilities. It’s a blessing not a burden. You will learn leadership skills that will be valuable for you today and for the future.
