NAGKAKAISANG PAHAYAG NG MGA KONSEHO AT ORGANISASYON NG UP MANILA TUNGKOL SA IMPEACHMENT NI SARA DUTERTE AT PAG-ARESTO KAY BATO DELA ROSA

Muling na-impeach si Sara Duterte sa House of Representatives, sa ikalawang pagkakataon, ngunit sunod-sunod naman ang mga maniobrang pampulitika ng mga kaalyado ng pamilyang Duterte sa Senado upang siya’y protektahan.

Mula sa paglitaw muli ni Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa sa Senado, pagkatapos lumiban sa Senado mulang Nobyembro 2025, hanggang sa pagboto upang palitan ang liderato ng Senado, malinaw na ginagamit nila ang kapangyarihan upang hadlangan ang hustisya at iligtas ang kanilang mga kaalyado sa pananagutan.

Ang pagpapalit ng liderato sa Senado ay isang garapal at kasuklam-suklam na hakbang upang pahinain ang paniningil ng mamamayan at protektahan ang pansariling interes ng mga nasa kapangyarihan.

Kasabay nito, patuloy namang tinatakbuhan ni Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa ang usapin ng International Criminal Court (ICC) kaugnay ng madugong “war on drugs” ng administrasyong Duterte.

Malinaw sa warrant of arrest ng ICC na may “reasonable grounds” upang paniwalaang si dela Rosa ay isang indirect co-perpetrator sa krimen laban sa sangkatauhan, partikular sa libo-libong pagpaslang na isinagawa sa ngalan ng huwad na gera kontra droga.

Mariing kinukundena ng mga konseho at organisasyon ng UP Manila ang sunod-sunod na maniobrang pampulitika sa Senado na naglalayong protektahan si Sara Duterte, Bato dela Rosa, at iba pang mga kaalyadong dapat managot sa taumbayan. Hindi dapat maging kanlungan ng mga inaakusahan ng malawakang pagpatay at korapsyon ang Senado. Hindi natin dapat kalimutan ang ₱612.5 milyong confidential funds ni Sara Duterte noong 2023.

Habang ang mga ordinaryong Pilipino ay naghihikahos dahil sa krisis sa lipunan, malinaw na ipinapakita ng mga nakaupo sa Senado na ang kanilang pagsilibi ay wala sa sambayanang Pilipino kundi sa kanilang mga kaalyado at pansariling interes.

Kaya nananawagan kami sa agarang paglilitis kay Sara Duterte, at pag-aresto kay Bato dela Rosa upang panagutin sila sa harap ng batas at ng sambayanan.

Nananawagan kami sa buong komunidad ng UP Manila na maging mapanuri at ilabas ang galit sa lansangan upang ipakita ang walang humpay na paniningil ng mamamayan para sa katotohanan, hustisya at pananagutan.

Ngayong Araw ng Manggagawa, kinikilala natin ang lakas at ambag ng uring manggagawa—ang mga kamay na bumubuo, nag-aalaga, at nagpapaikot sa mundo. Sila ang nagbibigay-buhay sa bawat industriya at komunidad, ngunit sila rin ang unang dinidikdik ng krisis, taas-presyo, at talamak na inhustisya.

Kaya sa araw na ito, hindi sapat ang pasasalamat; ang kailangan ay paniningil at pagkilos. Hindi tayo magbubulag-bulagan habang pinapatay ang ating karapatan at kinabukasan. Igiit ang nakabubuhay na sahod, wakasan ang mapanirang kontraktwalisasyon, at buong-tapang na palakasin ang ating kolektibong hanay!

[NAGKAKAISANG PAHAYAG NG UPPhA SA PAGPASLANG KAY ALYSSA]

Mariing kinukundena ng konseho, mga organisasyon, at buong UP Pharmaceutical Association (UPPhA) ang hindi makatarungang pagpaslang ng 79th Infantry Battalion ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) kay Alyssa Alano—isang Iskolar ng Bayan, lider-estudyante, at ngayo’y martir ng sambayanan at ang pasistang panunupil ng militar sa Negros.

Si Alyssa ay isang konsehal ng UP Diliman University Student Council at kilala sa pagiging malapit ang puso sa pagsisilbi sa taumbayan, at ang pakikibaka laban sa mapang-aping sistema. Ngunit nitong Abril 19, naglunsad ng marahas na operasyon ang AFP sa Barangay Salamanca, Toboso, Negros Occidental. Ang naturang militarisasyon ay nagresulta sa sapilitang paglikas ng mahigit 650 residente at ang pagkasawi ng 19 indibidwal, kabilang na si Alyssa.

Ang pagkamatay ni Alyssa ay isang patunay na habang tuloy-tuloy ang korapsyon, karahasan sa mga komunidad tulad ng sa Negros, pamamasismo ng militar sa masa, at ang patuloy na pagpanig at pagpabor ng estado sa mga naghaharing-uri at panginoong may-lupa, ang lipunang ating ginagalawan ay mananatiling atrasado at patuloy na malulugmok sa kahirapan ang mamamayang Pilipino.

Ang Isla ng Negros ay matagal nang sentro ng tunggalian dahil sa monopolyo sa lupa ng mga malalaking asyendero. Lumala ang tensyon sa Isla dahil sa Memorandum Order (MO) No. 32 na nagpahintulot sa pagpapalawak ng militarisasyon sa rehiyon. Naging instrumento ang MO sa sistematikong paglabag sa karapatang pantao, kriminalisasyon ng mga organisasyon ng magsasaka, ilegal na pag-aresto, at pagpaslang sa mga progresibong indibidwal sa ilalim ng mga operasyon ng “counterinsurgency.”

Naunawaan ni Alyssa na ang katarungan ay hindi makakamit sa loob ng apat na sulok ng silid-aralan; kaya naman buong tapang siyang tumungo sa Negros upang makipamuhay sa hanay ng mga magsasaka. Pinili niyang tanganan ang panawagan para sa tunay na reporma sa lupa at labanan ang pyudal na pananamantala na siyang ugat ng pagdurusa ng mga mamamayan ng Negros.

Sa gitna ng trahedyang ito, muling napatunayan lamang na walang lunas ang hungkag na batas kung ang mismong tagapagtanggol nito ang siyang berdugo ng mamamayan. Walang lunas ang krisis sa ekonomiya kung ang pondo na dapat ay para sa libreng gamot at serbisyong pangkalusugan ay inilalaan sa pambobomba at pagbili ng mga armas mula sa imperyalistang US. At lalong walang lunas ang pasismo sa ilalim ng isang pamahalaang mas pinahahalagahan ang interes ng panginoong maylupa kaysa sa buhay ng sarili nitong mamamayan.

Malinaw na malinaw na ang prayoridad ng rehimeng US-Marcos ay ang pagpapanatili ng kapangyarihan sa pamamagitan ng takot, militarisasyon, at pambobomba sa sarili nitong mamamayan.

Pinagpupugayan ng UPPhA ang buhay at pakikibaka ni Alyssa Alano. Ang pagpaslang sa kanya ay isang direktang atake sa bawat kabataang nagnanais ng mas mabuting kinabukasan. Hindi namin hahayaan na ang dugo na dumanak sa Negros ay mabalewala; ito ay magsisilbing mitsa upang lalong pag-alabin ang aming paninindigan para sa katarungan.
