(COMPASS) is a national, non-governmental, non-profit organization composed of community doctors who basically believes that health is a basic human right. In a colloquium of Community-Based Medical Practitioners and Advocates held last 1991 attended by over 100 physicians from different parts of the country, there was a resolution to create a national organization of community physicians. 5 years, the founding assembly of COMPASS was held on November 29, 2006 by a gathering of 35 physicians at Shalom Center, Manila. As such, the group declared the meeting as the First General Assembly whereby they recognized the Founding Members consisting of 70 physicians from the 12 regions of the country.
