Want More Fish in the Future? Start Doing This šŸŽ£

Handling the fish that you hooked really matters. Checking if it's worth keeping it or releasing it makes the difference for future fishing. Always avoid squeezing or dropping it and remove the hook quickly and carefully. If it’s deep-hooked, don’t force it, cut the line close to the hook instead.

Before releasing, hold the fish upright in the water and gently move it back and forth to push water through its gills. Once it kicks on its own, let it go.

A healthy release means more fish for the future.

Stop Wasting Bait! One Small Change = More Hookups šŸŽ£!

In the surf, waves, currents, and bait stealers can strip your hook fast. The bait cage helps lock your bait in place while still letting scent disperse into the water to attract fish. That means your bait stays effective longer and spends more time in the strike zone.

It’s especially useful when you’re using softer bait or fishing in rough conditions. Less time rebaiting, more time fishing. Just load it up, cast it out, and let it do the work.

We Almost Lost Everything… Until We Found This Fish

All our lines got tangled, and it got so bad we had to cut a few just to fix it. But instead of leaving them, we made sure to retrieve every cut line and that’s when things got interesting…

One of the lines we pulled back still had a fish on it. 😳

We quickly tied it back to our main line and reeled it in, turning chaos into a catch. Always recover your lines and stay patient, and you might just save the day.

Finding the right spot is EVERYTHING in surf fishing. šŸŽ£

Don’t just cast anywhere, look for structure. Focus on cuts in the sandbar, deeper troughs, and areas where waves break differently. These are natural feeding lanes where fish move and hunt. Water color changes and rip currents can also point you to deeper channels holding fish.

Spend a few minutes reading the beach before your first cast. It can make all the difference with a rewarding catch!

The pelicans just moved in. They dove straight into the bait zone and tangled all three rigs, turning a clean setup into chaos in seconds. In surf fishing, birds like pelicans often signal baitfish activity, but they can also disrupt your spread when they get too aggressive around the lines.

Despite the mess, the last line stayed tight, and ended up with a fish on it šŸŽ£

If a bird gets hooked or tangled, never just cut the line and leave it. Always take time to safely remove the hook and free the bird properly. In some cases, you can gently cover the bird’s eyes with a rag or towel to help calm it down and reduce stress, but today it wasn’t needed, and we were able to safely remove the hook without issue.

Even in chaos, patience and proper handling matter, for both the catch and the wildlife.

We let our friend .mathiraj._ experience real Florida fishing by giving him the chance to reel in the catch of the day. šŸŽ£

Before the cast, we set the drag properly so the fish could run without breaking the line. During the fight, we kept the rod tip high to absorb sudden runs and maintained steady tension no slack, no mistakes. Staying calm was key, letting the fish tire out instead of rushing the landing.

Big catches aren’t luck, they come from patience, control, and solid technique.

Don’t Force the Fish… Watch This First! šŸ‘€

Keep your rod tip high to cushion those hard runs, and trust your drag, don’t try to overpower the fish. Use the length of your rod to your advantage, guiding the fish through waves and current with steady pressure.

Stay smooth, stay patient, and keep constant tension.

You’re in control, don’t let the fish dictate the fight.

Technique over strength, every single time.

If You Hook a Big Fish, DO THIS or You’ll Lose It šŸ˜³šŸŽ£

When you get into a solid fish from the beach, the key is control and patience. Don’t rush it, let the rod and drag do the work. Keep steady pressure and guide the fish away from waves, rocks, or other lines.

As it comes closer, stay calm and be ready for the surf surge. Time your landing with the wave, and don’t try to force it up too early, wait for the right moment. One mistake in the surf and you can lose the fish fast.

Stay calm, stay focused, and bring it in clean. šŸŽ£šŸ”„

my TOP 3 places to cast for fish at the beach!

Had a lot of people yesterday say ā€œoh so basically just cast anywhere?ā€ NO! Figure out what you are aiming for (in front, on top, or behind a sandbar) and then continue aiming for the spot that catches fish! It’s a bit more strategic than just casting randomly.

Fishing in front of the sandbar (the trough) is great because fish cruise these deeper channels looking for food. Casting behind the sandbar can reach calmer water where bigger fish often hang out past the breakers.

And don’t overlook the top of the sandbar—waves push bait up there, making it a feeding zone for species like pompano and whiting.

Front, back, or top—each zone holds fish. The key is reading the water and adjusting your cast. šŸ”„

Where You Cast Matters MORE Than You Think šŸ˜³šŸŽ£

Sometimes, fishing is all about casting. Don’t just cast anywhere; try to cast in these areas, and based on our experiences, it is a 100% catch rate.

1. The close zone (first water line):
Right where the waves wash up—this shallow area can hold fish like whiting and pompano feeding close to shore. Don’t ignore it!

2. Front & back of the sandbar:
The front (trough) is a deeper channel where fish cruise and feed. The back side often has calmer water where bigger fish hang just past the breakers.

3. Top of the sandbar:
Waves push bait onto the bar, making it a prime feeding spot for active fish.

Don’t just cast far—cast smart. Try all zones and find where the fish are biting. šŸ”„šŸŽ£

Hooked into something BIG? Here’s how to handle it right šŸŽ£šŸ¦ˆ

We landed a solid bonnethead, and with bigger fish like this, it’s all about staying calm and in control. Let the rod do the work, keep steady pressure, and don’t rush the fight—use your drag and tire the fish out safely.

Once it’s in close, take your time, keep a safe distance, and handle it properly before release.

Big fish = smart handling. Stay safe and enjoy the fight! šŸ”„
