Meet our speaker, ๐ฃ๐ต๐ถ๐น๐น๐ถ๐ฝ ๐ ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ, a heritage scholar and cultural advocate whose work centers on the study and preservation of Philippine religious art and history. A Ph.D. student in History at the University of the Philippines Diliman, he brings a strong academic foundation and deep engagement in community-based heritage initiatives, particularly in Cavite. He will take part in the Day 1 program, where he will present โThe Impact of Religious Pilgrimage and Tourism on Living Heritage.โ
His research explores Spanish Renaissance and Baroque art, religious relics, and iconography, with publications that trace the heritage of early Philippine retablos and sacred art traditions. Beyond academia, he actively collaborates with local communities and historical societies to advance cultural mapping and heritage management, reinforcing the connection between scholarly work and the safeguarding of living traditions.
