Providing parents in Manila with accurate information about routine infant/ child/ female circumcision, circumcision clinics, and circumcision doctors, Operation Tuli. We know that none of the major world-wide religions, including Christianity, Islam, and Judaism requires circumcision. We know that the Quran (Koran, or holy book for Muslims, however the spelling) does not require circumcision, and
modern Judaism is in the progress of abandoning circumcision; the ancient Hebrews and the Jews have never consistently practiced circumcision. From modern medical studies, we know that circumcision is quite dangerous and destructive to male newborns, infants, toddlers, boys, adolescents, and adults -- the damage far outweighs any of the benefits that have been claimed. We know that all of the medical benefits claimed for circumcision have been disproved. We also know that it is the only "medical" procedure in modern medicine that amputates healthy tissue in hopes of consequent, rare, and unproven benefits. We know that most circumcisions are performed on unconsenting infants and that they are agonizing excruciation. We know that most advanced medical communities around the world are in strong disagreement with the American medical community and do not permit circumcision, except in extreme and extraordinarily rare medical cases. We know that no major medical association in the world recommends circumcision, and most recommend against routine male circumcision. We also know that the American practice of circumcision is hugely profitable to doctors and hospitals -- some physicians have literally made millions of dollars from this non-recommended procedure: it is a billion dollar business in the illicit trade of body parts from unconsenting males. We also know that routine circumcision of infants and minor males is unethical according to physicians' own standards, their own set of ethics. In summary, what we know is that routine circumcision is extremely risky, horribly painful, dangerous, unethical, result in life-long problems, and must be abandoned as a "medical" and cultural procedure.
