From Skills to Livelihood: Project Barista Series 2

Mas maraming kaalaman, mas maraming oportunidad para sa dagdag-kabuhayan!

Noong August 13, 2026, matagumpay na isinagawa sa TSPI Alfonso Branch ang Series 2 of Project Barista: Milk Tea and Fruit Soda Preparation Training, in partnership with City College of Imus under Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

Bago ang training, nagkaroon muna ng orientation para sa 11 new borrowers, kung saan mas nakilala nila ang TSPI, ang mga serbisyo nito, at ang kanilang mga responsibilidad bilang kliyente.

Sinundan ito ng hands-on training facilitated by Mr. Jay Mercado of City College of Imus, kung saan natutunan ng mga kliyente ang iba't ibang techniques sa paghahanda ng milk tea at fruit soda. Kasama sa training ang parehong new at existing clients, na aktibong nakilahok at nagbahagi ng kanilang interes sa pagbuo ng dagdag na livelihood opportunities.

Para sa TSPI, ang bawat training ay hindi lang tungkol sa bagong skills. Ito ay tungkol sa pagbibigay ng kaalaman, kumpiyansa, at pagkakataon para mas mapalago ang kabuhayan ng mga kliyente dahil bawat bagong kasanayan ay maaaring maging simula ng panibagong oportunidad.

Minsan, isang salita lang ang kailangan para bumalik ang tiwala ng isang tao.

Sa negosyo, hindi lang produkto ang naaalala ng customers.

Naaalala rin nila kung paano mo sila pinakitunguhan.

"Sa isang hindi inaasahang pangyayari, noong Enero 5, 2026, ganap na alas-7 ng gabi, pumanaw ang aking asawa sa edad na 33. Sa unang araw pa lamang ng kanyang burol sa aming tahanan, dumating na ang mga staff ng TSPI upang magbigay ng tulong at pakikiramay. Bukod sa kanilang agarang suporta, natanggap din namin ang benepisyo mula sa kanyang life insurance.

Lubos akong humanga sa bilis at kahusayan ng kanilang serbisyo. Agad nilang naiproseso at naibigay ang mga benepisyong nararapat para sa aking yumaong asawa sa panahon na higit naming kinakailangan ito.

Dahil sa napakagandang karanasang ito, nagpasya rin akong maging miyembro ng TSPI. Bilang isang sundalo, maari sanang isipin ng iba na hindi ko na kailangan ng karagdagang life insurance dahil mayroon na kaming benepisyo mula sa serbisyo. Ngunit sa nakita kong malasakit, pagiging maaasahan, at mabilis na pagtugon ng TSPI, napatunayan kong napakahalaga ng kanilang programa.

Shiela May Baluis was a Public School Teacher and a valued member of the TSPI Nabua Branch. Her husband, Quirino Baluis IV, serves as a soldier. Together, they were blessed with three children: Bradly, Manny, and Bambie.

Shiela's mother was the family's first TSPI member and encouraged her daughter to enroll in the microinsurance program in 2017. Shiela gladly accepted and faithfully maintained her membership by regularly paying her insurance contributions. She remained deeply committed to her vocation as a teacher while diligently fulfilling her responsibilities as a loving wife and devoted mother. According to Quirino, Shiela was kind-hearted, hardworking, and steadfast in caring for her family.

In January 2026, Shiela was diagnosed with a chronic illness. Despite her courage and resilience, she peacefully returned to the Lord later that month, leaving behind her husband and three children. In the midst of their grief, the timely assistance and support extended by TSPI provided much-needed comfort to the family and demonstrated the organization's genuine care and commitment to its members.

Hindi natin kontrolado kung ano ang mangyayari bukas.

Pero pwede nating piliing harapin ito nang may pananampalataya kaysa pangamba.

Pwedeng masipag ka buong araw, but are you being intentional with what you do?

Sa trabaho, negosyo, pamilya, at kahit sa personal goals natin, malaking bagay ang pagiging masinop, maingat, at marunong magplano.

Hindi lahat ng progress mabilis makita. Minsan, nasa maliliit na bagay, pag-aayos ng priorities, pag-aaral ng mas magandang paraan, at pagiging consistent kahit walang nakakakita.

TSPI RECOGNIZED AS AN OUTSTANDING MCPI MEMBER

We are proud to share that Tulay Sa Pag-unlad, Inc (TSPI) has been recognized as on Outstanding Member of the Microfinance Council of the Philippines, Inc (MCPI) for 2025-2026.

The award recognizes TSPI’s active participation and commitment to the microfinance sector, including compliance with MCPI membership requirements, participation in industry activities, submission of benchmark and financial data, and support for initiatives that contribute to the growth and development of Philippine microfinance.

May mga taong tahimik lang lumalaban para sa pamilya, para sa pangarap, para sa kinabukasan.

Minsan, strength means showing up kahit pagod. Choosing to keep going kahit maraming kailangang isipin. At patuloy na ginagawa ang mga tungkulin na ipinagkatiwala sa atin.

Sa TSPI, ang leadership ay higit pa sa pag-abot ng targets at pag-manage ng operations. It is about being a good steward, serving others, leading with integrity, and pursuing excellence.

Kaya isinagawa ang Lead to P.E.A.K. Performance Workshop noong August 5 to 7, 2026, na dinaluhan ng 36 managers mula sa iba’t ibang TSPI branches.

Sa loob ng three-day workshop, mas pinalalim ang kanilang understanding of management and leadership through the lens of TSPI’s core values:
