Project H2O

Project H2O Project H2O is part of the Relief Operations of the Mu Sigma Phi Fraternity and Sorority.

Project Help 2 Others, or Project H2O is a relief-based program under the disaster response arm of the Mu Sigma Phi Fraternity of the UP College of Medicine, promoting immediate access to safe drinking water during calamities where water is scarce. In the past, the Mu Sigma Phi has provided comprehensive, valuable aid such as relief goods, medicine and medical assistance to Filipinos struck by trag

edies. Project H2O is dedicated to providing potable water to those people struck by calamities using the Sawyer filtration system. For every monetary donation, we assemble and send the corresponding number of filtration devices to the victims of Typhoon Yolanda. For inquiries you may contact:

In the wake of Tropical Storm Basyang, the entire province of Surigao del Sur was placed under a state of calamity last February, leaving many communities struggling with disrupted access to basic necessities, including safe and potable water.

Last March 20, relief efforts reached affected families in Lanuza, particularly in Brgy. Nurcia Proper, Purok Catupgas, and Purok Cabanahan. A total of 150 households benefited from this effort, highlighting both the scale of the need and the importance of coordinated community response.

In times like these, access to clean and safe drinking water remains one of the most urgent and persistent challenges. Through Project H2O, we continue to work toward empowering vulnerable communities with sustainable solutions—ensuring they are not only aided in times of crisis, but equipped with the means to secure safe water for the long term.

Project H2O extends our heartfelt gratitude to our generous donors and partners—Brod Manny Dalope MΣΦ 1970, Brod Gene Amparo MΣΦ 1972, the Mu Sigma Phi Foundation, Manly Plastics Inc.—as well as to Sis Aya Escandor μΣΦ 2019 and Tandag Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc., whose time, effort, and support made this relief operation possible. Your kindness has brought essential aid to families recovering from the storms, and we deeply appreciate your solidarity in making a meaningful impact on these communities.

We are still accepting donations to help us provide water filtration units to communities in need. Donations may be deposited through the following accounts:

In the wake of the magnitude 7.4 earthquake off the coast of Manay, Davao Oriental, communities are struggling with the aftermath of collapsed buildings, damaged roads, and disruptions to power and water supply. With water systems destroyed and sanitation facilities compromised, the scarcity of safe drinking water has become a growing concern, increasing the risk of disease outbreaks. Project H2O is mobilizing urgent assistance by providing essential water filtration buckets to communities in need. Each of our filtration buckets can supply potable water to up to 11 families, offering immediate relief and supporting long-term recovery efforts.

At this moment, your generosity can bring comfort and hope. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will go directly toward the manufacturing and assembly of water filter units for families in need. Donations may be made through any of the following channels:

In the wake of the September 30 earthquake in Northern Cebu, communities are struggling with the aftermath of collapsed buildings, damaged roads, and widespread disruptions to power and water supply. The powerful quake severely affected homes, schools, and hospitals, driving thousands of families to seek refuge in safer areas. Ongoing aftershocks and landslides have further heightened the dangers in isolated communities, leaving many residents stranded and vulnerable. With water systems destroyed and sanitation facilities compromised, the scarcity of safe drinking water has become a growing concern, increasing the risk of disease outbreaks. Families who have lost both their homes and sources of livelihood now face immense hardship, with limited access to clean water, food, and basic hygiene.

Immediate relief is urgently needed, including the provision of food packs, safe drinking water, hygiene kits, temporary shelters, and medical supplies to sustain survivors as they endure the devastation and struggle with limited access to essential services.

Monetary donations are highly encouraged and any amount is greatly appreciated. Donations may be deposited to the following accounts:

In the aftermath of these devastating storms, countless families in North and South Luzon—particularly in Cagayan and in the Bicol Region—are left with damaged homes, lost livelihoods, and little access to clean water.

The crisis for these communities is urgent. Flooding and infrastructure damage have contaminated water sources, making clean drinking water a vital need to prevent a public health crisis. Project H2O, in partnership with Mu Relief, is mobilizing urgent assistance by providing essential water filtration buckets to communities in need. Each of our filtration buckets can supply potable water to up to 11 families, offering immediate relief and supporting long-term recovery efforts.

Last week, the Ilocos Region has faced the devastating impact of three consecutive storms—Crising, Dante, and Emong—leaving many communities without electricity and access to safe drinking water, a situation that may persist for several weeks.

On July 28–29, Project H2O conducted a relief operation across various municipalities in La Union and Ilocos Sur to help communities begin to recover and regain access to clean water. A total of 50 water filtration units were donated to residents in Balaoan and San Juan, La Union through Project Coastal Underwater Resource Management Actions (CURMA); in Bauang, La Union through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office; and in Caoayan, Ilocos Sur through Asian Medical Students' Association–University of Northern Philippines.

Project H2O extends our heartfelt gratitude to our generous donors and partners—Brod Manny Dalope MΣΦ 1970, Brod Gene Amparo MΣΦ 1972, the Mu Sigma Phi Foundation, Manly Plastics Inc.—as well as to our dedicated Brods whose time, effort, and support made this relief operation possible. Your kindness has brought essential aid to families recovering from the storms, and we deeply appreciate your solidarity in making a meaningful impact on these communities.

We are still accepting donations to help us procure additional water filtration units for other communities who continue to face challenges in accessing clean and safe drinking water. Donations may be deposited through the following accounts:

In the wake of Severe Tropical Storm Crising, Tropical Storm Dante, and Typhoon Emong, communities across the Philippines continue to struggle with the aftermath of destructive winds, relentless rains, and widespread flooding. In La Union, many roads remain impassable due to fallen trees and debris, leaving several communities isolated. In Ilocos Sur, among the hardest hit is Brgy. Puro in Caoayan, Ilocos Sur, which is an island community surrounded by coastal waters and accessible only by boat. Typhoon Emong brought heavy rains, storm surges, and powerful winds that inundated homes, destroyed livelihoods, and left many families stranded. With power outages, limited access to clean water, and disrupted transportation, the residents of Brgy. Puro and communities in La Union are in urgent need of relief. Your support can help provide food packs, drinking water, hygiene kits, and other essential supplies to affected families.
