Community Based Monitoring System - CBMS Evidence-based policy making, program design and implementation, while empowering local communities to participate in the process

The Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Network Team, a group of researchers with background in Economics and Statistics, conducts multidimensional poverty studies with expertise in the development and applications of CBMS and other local level data for the generation of local development (poverty) indicators and for implementation of various thematic concerns including localizing global deve

lopment goals (i.e. SDGs), gender and development, migration and development, vulnerability risk mapping, DRRM and CCA, monitoring child labor, among others. In the Philippines, the CBMS Network Team has provided free technical support in the adoption by local governments of the CBMS methodology and basic modules for data collection, processing, poverty mapping, and use of data for preparation of local development plans from 2000 to 2020. The CBMS Network Team has also initiated and spearheaded the development and conduct of CBMS modules for the adoption in local context of CBMS in more than 25 countries under its technical collaboration with PEP with support from the IDRC-Canada and UK-DFID.
