These words, passed down through centuries in Latin, serve as the final seal on the greatest act of love the world has ever known. It was not a cry of defeat, but a shout of victory.

On this Good Friday, we kneel before the mystery of the cross. The final breath paid every unpaid debt, shadow, and obstacle between humanity and God. The mission of the Messiah is accomplished, and the work of salvation is fulfilled.

Today, may we find peace in the knowledge that there is nothing left for us to earn, but only a gift for us to accept. The debt has been paid, the sacrifice has been made, and the way is open. ✝️🕯️

The PNA Corporate Officers and Executive Committee held a courtesy and coordination meeting with the National Officers of the House of Delegates (HOD) to align on key organizational priorities on March 26, 2026.

The meeting was attended by HOD Chairperson Nurse Melbert Reyes, Secretary Nurse Orlan Balano, and Treasurer Nurse Erlinda Palaganas.

Discussions centered on providing updates regarding various resolutions submitted by the 2025 HOD. These resolutions address critical concerns of the association, including welfare initiatives and a formal review of the PNA Hymn. Furthermore, the committees engaged in strategic planning for upcoming HOD trainings to ensure the active engagement and professional development of delegates nationwide.

Moving forward, these coordination efforts aim to strengthen the internal processes of the association and ensure that the voice of the nursing community is effectively represented.

During his teleradio interview with DZXL News's Positibong Balita with Dr. Carl E. Balita on March 22, PNA President Gian Carlo Torres reiterated the association’s call to prioritize the review and passage of key nursing bills aimed at advancing the welfare of Filipino nurses.

He emphasized the importance of the current nursing bill proposed by the PRC Board of Nursing, noting that its enactment is a concrete and necessary step toward genuinely valuing the nursing profession.

For context, the new nursing bill addresses critical issues like equitable compensation for all nurses and clear career pathways to advanced practice nursing, helping maximize nurses' role in achieving universal health care.

As mentioned by Dr. Carl, nurses make up the largest proportion of the health workforce, placing us at the core of healthcare delivery in the country.

Therefore, as the mother organization of nurses in the Philippines, we call on every Filipino nurse to stand with us, amplify these calls, and actively support our shared advocacies. The pursuit of fair compensation, professional growth, and dignified working conditions demands collective action. Our strength lies in our unity.

By speaking as one, we assert our rightful place in shaping policies that directly impact our profession and the health of our nation.

143 years ago—March 24, 1882—Dr. Robert Koch discovered 𝘔𝘺𝘤𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘶𝘮 𝘵𝘶𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘴, the bacterium causing pulmonary tuberculosis.

Today, we observe World TB Day to raise awareness about this disease, which, despite being preventable and curable, continues to affect millions globally. In fact, as of February 16, reported TB cases in the National Capital Region (NCR) alone have reached 101,807, based on data from the Epidemiology Bureau’s Integrated Tuberculosis Information System.

Therefore, nurses, as public health champions, let us all support and amplify this advocacy: tuberculosis is preventable and curable.

Together, we can help end TB through early detection, prompt treatment, and sustained community engagement.
