LSM caters the work and aspiration of people working as volunteer and staff of social and civic services groups. We at LSM acknowledge the fast-changing technology and its role in information exchange; and by utilising social media platforms, we have decided to take the lead of forwarding our causes. Innate among Filipinos is their big heart to help others. Inasmuch as we understand the concept of

“bayanihan”—an old tradition prevalent in barrios and countryside, we have developed this sense of giving and helping our neighbor channeled through what we called e-volunteerism. What motivates us? In recent study conducted by an independent group, the shocking truth reveals that both men and women considered unimportant source of happiness the participation in cultural activities, participation in community and volunteer work. We, at LSM objectifies to raise cultural awareness. We bank on the socio-cultural practices of volunteering and community participation as tool for nation-building. LSM wishes to welcome you as part of this project. How to become part of this project?

A post on the Facebook group The Librarianologist warmed the hearts of Pinoys, featuring the Overio Family Little Popup Community Library — a humble sanctuary in Tubungan, Iloilo, that provides children with a space to read and learn 24/7.

"When I was told that the children in this community wouldn't bother to read and that setting up a library wouldn't work, I realized something important: that it's not that they don't want to read; they simply need access to books and a little encouragement," read Dr. YusufBel Overio's post.

To foster a genuine love of reading in children, she launched a simple initiative: offering a small reward for every 'big' book they read and summarized.

"Libraries, whether big or small, truly have the power to make a meaningful difference in a community," Overio added.

Many children, especially in rural areas, still lack access to public spaces such as libraries. The Overio Family Little Popup Community Library helps bridge the gap and shows the urgent need for more community-led learning spaces across the country.

"Thank you for doing this. As a book lover, I champion those who instill a love of reading [in] others, especially the underprivileged," one Facebook user commented.

Thank you, dear donors!

What a wonderful holiday gift for our learners. Your heartfelt generosity will make a meaningful difference in the learning experiences of our pupils at DepEd Minas Elementary School.
We extend our deepest appreciation to our donors from the University of Santo Tomas—Ms. Anj Capili and Ms. Jezireel Pascua.

Our sincere thanks also go to Ms. Karen Kate Abarca, Ariel Faraon, Ivan Fiedalan, and Nicole Magadan for their kindness and support.

Your compassion brings joy, hope, and inspiration to our young learners. Thank you for being a part of their journey.

From 10 to 15! What a purposeful journey.

LSM@10: Jyr shared the team's travel to remote areas forced them to catch the last trip on top of a jeepney and on board a small banca. But there's always a reason not to stop the mission. To her, even a small gesture of kindness would mean so much to those who lack access to basic educational support.

Our goal is simple.

To bring the joy of reading.

This year, we're restocking our beneficiary's library — a school we supported three years ago.

Join us. Volunteer. Make a difference!
