Sa ika-22 taon ng Para sa Bayan at Lasalyano (BayLayn), layon ng Ang Pahayagang Plaridel na higit na mahikayat ang mga estudyanteng mamamahayag na maging mas mapanuri, responsable, at makabuluhan sa paggamit ng midya—bilang tagapaghatid ng impormasyon at boses ng lipunan.

Kasama sina Jairo Bolledo at Zandro Ochona, isusulong ng ang temang “Mula sa Masa, Para sa Masa: Pananagutan sa Bayan ng Citizen Journalism” upang talakayin ang papel at pananagutan ng citizen journalism sa makabagong midya, at ang impluwensiya nito sa kamalayang panlipunan.

Abangan ang iba’t ibang workshop at kompetisyong huhubog sa bagong henerasyon ng mamamahayag bilang haligi ng katotohanan.

Mahirap magbingi-bingihan sa katotohanan. Mahirap magsulat ngunit kinakailangan.

As Lasallians, it is important for us to speak up for the people and things often overlooked. 🗣️

Today, we share with you 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝟮 of DLSU-RCYC’s 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿: 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲, which will showcase the organization’s different advocacies aligned with those of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC). 🌷

𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆 #𝟰: 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗹𝘆
In line with PRC’s humanitarian efforts and mission of service, the organization promotes ‘Care for the Elderly’ through the distribution of hygiene kits, conducting blood drives, and doing feeding programs. This advocacy aims to cater to the vulnerable sector of our society so that they may be given a life of respect and dignity.

𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆 #𝟱: 𝗩𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 (𝗩𝗔𝗪𝗖)
The International Humanitarian Law, abided by the PRC, aims to protect women and children from different forms of violence, such as domestic abuse. As cases of VAWC continue to rise in the Philippines, this advocacy aims to bring to light the behaviors that constitute VAWC, as well as advocate for improved legislation, provide support for VAWC victims, and encourage respect for the rights of women and children.

𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆 #𝟲: 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Voluntary blood donation drives allow the PRC to have a steady supply of blood, which is used to aid patients experiencing blood-related illnesses. This advocacy’s goal is to share and show the importance of blood donations, as well as encourage people to regularly donate blood.
