2026 Ticket to Life Manila Scout Troop Investiture Ceremony

The Ticket to Life Manila Scout Troop (St. John Bosco) formally welcomed and invested 25 new Scout members on June 6, 2025. These new members will become part of the Young Scout Group of the troop.

One of the highlights of the ceremony was the inspiring testimony of Mr. Jomar R. Lucion, one of the pioneer members of the troop. Jomar joined the organization in 2008 when he was only nine years old. During his testimony, he shared how the Scout troop transformed his life by helping him develop values such as hope, perseverance, and resilience. He emphasized that whenever he faced challenges and setbacks, Scouting taught him how to rise again and remain strong.

Jomar also shared that he lost both of his parents at a very young age. However, through Ticket to Life Manila, he found a family and a support system. He fondly referred to Ma’am Sophie as his mother and Sir Derek as his father, recognizing the guidance and care they provided throughout his journey.

In 2013, due to personal and family difficulties, Jomar was forced to stop his schooling. Despite these challenges, he credited the Ticket to Life Manila Scout Troop for helping him stay hopeful and continue moving forward in life.

At the end of his testimony, Jomar challenged the newly invested Scouts to remain active and committed members of the troop. He encouraged them to stay because they would always find brothers and sisters within the organization who would support them, stand by their side, and help them overcome life’s challenges.

The event was graced by the presence of Rev. Fr. Jude Genovia, Rev. Fr. Leo Distor, and David Dominic M. Lanuza, Deputy Secretary General of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines.

The ceremony served as a meaningful milestone for the new Scouts as they began their Scouting journey, inspired by the experiences and testimony of those who came before them./

Last May 30, 2026, the Senior Scouts of the Ticket to Life Manila Scout Troop participated in a series of Scout Games as part of their weekly troop meeting. The activity provided an opportunity for the Scouts to apply teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills through friendly and engaging challenges designed to strengthen cooperation among patrol members.

Beyond recreation, the games reinforced important Scouting values such as leadership, discipline, and camaraderie. Through healthy competition and shared experiences, the Scouts were able to build stronger bonds with one another while developing skills that are valuable both within and beyond the Scouting movement.

Last May 30, 2026, the new recruits of the Ticket to Life Manila Scout Troop conducted their final practice in preparation for their upcoming Investiture Ceremony. The session focused on reviewing the sequence of the ceremony, proper Scout decorum, and the traditions that accompany their formal acceptance into the troop. This final rehearsal helped ensure that the recruits were confident and prepared for this important milestone in their Scouting journey.

In addition to the practice, the new recruits also underwent a profiling process to formally establish their membership in Ticket to Life Manila. The activity marked an important step in their integration into the troop, serving as both a culmination of their preparations and the beginning of their journey as Scouts.

Last May 23, 2026, the Senior Scouts of the Ticket to Life Manila Scout Troop conducted a review session on the Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines. The activity aimed to strengthen the Scouts’ understanding of the proper use, display, and respect for the Philippine flag and other national symbols.

The session was led by RS John Jazper R. Luna together with RS Reyginald C. Cruz, who discussed the importance of patriotism and the responsibilities of Scouts in upholding respect for national identity and symbols. Scouts were reminded that proper observance of the code reflects discipline, citizenship, and love for country.

The review served as an important refresher for the Senior Scouts, especially as young leaders expected to set examples for others in the troop and community. Through activities like this, the troop continues to promote responsible citizenship and awareness of national values among its members.

Last May 23, 2026, the young Scouts of the Ticket to Life Manila Scout Troop continued their preparations for their upcoming Investiture Ceremony.

Through the preparations led by Sctr. Angelo Lucion, the new recruits were given a better understanding of the values and discipline expected from every Scout. The session also helped build confidence and familiarity as they prepare for their formal acceptance into the troop.

Activities like these play an important role in helping new recruits feel welcomed and prepared as they begin their journey in Scouting. Through proper orientation and mentorship, the troop continues to strengthen the foundation of its future members.

Last May 16, the Senior Scouts tackled the practicalities of land navigation, learning the distinct parts, advantages, and differences between using high-tech GPS and traditional Compasses.

Meanwhile, the room was filled with proud energy as our Young Scouts trained for their Investiture. From learning the proper Scout Sign to understanding their promises, they are well on their way to officially joining the worldwide scouting family.

During the Ticket to Life Manila Scout Troop Meeting last May 9, 2026, Scouts were debriefed on the recently concluded summer camp. Members shared their experiences and stories from the camp with the new recruits, allowing them to gain insights into what the activity was like and the lessons learned throughout the experience.

The session also served as a space for connection and learning between senior Scouts and the new recruits, as stories from the summer camp helped inspire and guide them in their own Scouting journey.

Meanwhile, the new recruits continued their preparations for their upcoming Investiture Ceremony, focusing on understanding troop traditions, expectations, and the responsibilities of becoming full members of the Scouting movement.

The meeting highlighted both reflection and preparation, strengthening the bond within the troop while supporting the growth of its newest members.
